As mentionend in the builder guide, you can create the content, add precise coords and complete content in the field, then when everything works fine, switch visibility form "off" to "public".

I'm only saying this as an FYI. If your tester uses private mode instead of test mode, I'm thinking when everyone else sees the AL publish, it'll already be completed. Might be frustrating for those who get excited about being the FTF. Kind of like letting your beta tester for any other cache type get FTF before the cache is published.

    A good point!

    Yes and no.

A betatester can be instructed to refrain from logging and continue with logging when the podium is set.

btw: Are ALC-FTF logs considered in FTF-list in https://project-gc.com/ ????

Yes I think so since, according to the documentation, the only difference between private and public is that private doesn't in the list and map and has to be started directly from the link or QR code.

    Okay, thank you.

    Lessons learned:

    - self executed alpha tests to be done in test mode

    - when letting a friend executing a real live test as beta to check geofencing etc. , then using private mode

Was your AL set to test mode during their test run? If so, it won't record that as completed and they'll need to delete the test version before they attempt the public version.

Yes, indeed, my AL was set to test mode.

Would a setting to private mode for a test instead result in a completion?

  5. Trying to open a listing, that was retracted by a Reviewer, results in Error 404.

Wouldn't it be good to see, that the listing is still existing, but was retracted.

Instead showing server Error 404 (which appears also when you type a nonexistent GC code) a simple message like "listing was retracted" would be nice.

Am I just imagining it or did HQ quietly extend the deadline till March 2019? I thought it was about Sept. 6 of this year (today).

    Am I imagining that?

From June 06th, 2018 to March 06th, 2019 you can submit a Mystery Cachefor review that requires the finder to use an Augmented Reality (AR) app to find the cache. This is an experiment to see how the geocaching community will use AR technology. At the end of this time period, Geocaching HQ intends to grandfather published AR caches. Any caches published within this experiment may be archived at a later date by Geocaching HQ if circumstances change.

    absolutely not imagining...

I was in a big hurry to get my AR-Cache GC7X9AZ published just before the deadline....

It is possible that there are multiple issues here, but we have confirmed that several email service providers are deferring our emails including gmx.net. This is causing delays in the delivery of the emails to your inbox. We will be contacting these providers in an effort to resolve any issues, but it will take time to allow the backlog of emails to clear out.

okay, makes sense now. Some of my fellow cachers don't realize any problems while others have the same issue like us.

My email accounts for geocaching are hosted at web.de

The brands gmx.de, web.de and 1und1 are all part of "United Internet AG". Probably there is the root cause.
