I really miss the map numbers and list option very much. I used the list almost everytime I looked at the old map. For me, the lack of numbers and list reduces the usefulness of the new map by at least 50%. It needs to be there, even if only as an option. . -

This new translucency "feature" is disastrous for many existing cache listings. If you really must have it, then make it optional, defaulting to turned off, so as to not screw up existing listings. . -

The Text Entry box on the "Send Email" page and the Text Entry boxes on the "Editing Cache" page have been considerably shortened, making it much more difficult to use when entering more than a few lines. . -

What is the purpose of this change ? I can think of several good reasons why more two or more members of a family might need or want to use the same email account for their individual user accounts. I would consider this a "reduction in service" if it is left in place. -

I also miss the map numbers and list option very much. For me, the many good points about the new maps are considerably overridden by the lack of numbers and the list of caches. I use the list almost everytime I look at the map. I do realize that the list may need to be limited (ie. to 500 caches as it is now), but it really needs to be there. Please bring this feature into the Beta Map. -

Have been looking around the Beta maps and so far I generally like what I see. Some comments:- 1. I do miss the list of visible caches as on the RH side of the old maps. Very useful to pinpoint caches in a given area, particularly as it is sorted by GC number (old to new). 2. The personalization (My finds & hides.) still quits working after about 10 or 15 minutes. You must do a page reload to get it to work again. The same thing as happens on the old maps. 3. Would really like to see some sort of measuring tool, possibly similar to the "Ruler" tool in Google Earth. To be able to measure directly how long a hike it is to a cache, or even just how far off the road a cache is, would be a very good thing for planning your day. - Keep up the good work - much appreciated. -

I very much agree with this, it can be a big problem - if you have a description with puzzle clues as a list or table it makes it almost impossible to decypher! -

As a future enhancement of the Beta Maps - It would be very helpful to be able to directly measure distances on the geocaching maps. Something similar to that used in the Google Earth "Ruler" tool. This would be very usefull, not only when placing caches, but also when planning a day's caching; How long a hike to this one; how far off the road is this; etc. Right now you have to go to another map, figure out the exact location of the cache(s), and then you can measure! Much simpler if you could do it all on one page. -

Beta Maps - - Default location (Seattle area) seems to come up OK, but if you try to filter out any cache type, ie. multi, then all the caches disappear. This happens at any zoom level at any location. - If I move to another area (Vancouver Island), at long zoom levels (100km +) all caches appear, although some tiles are very slow - up to 15 sec. At closer zoom, (50-20 km) some tiles do not appear even after 1 min., starting from the West. (50km zoom = 126º cutoff / 20km = 124º cutoff) The cutoff is not consistent, but at 10km zoom all caches have always disappeared. If you play with the zoom enough even in the Seattle area all the caches will eventually disappear. Using Firefox 3.0.10 on XP -

If I check "Encrypt this log entry*" when posting a cache log, it removes the line feed formatting for the entire log on the cache page(all text ends up on one long line). Also there is no "decrypt" button. The log preview window that comes up immediatly after you submit the log is OK. Is this a Bug, or supposed to happen ? Can really spoil the look of a log and make it harder to make sense of. -

Today I had the problem, too. I clicked a cache (a mysterie). It was an easy mysterie, I solved in 5 Minutes. After going back to the map, the above mentioned problem occurs. I am getting the same problen. XP & FF 3.0.10 -

All the links to "Geochecker.com." are not working properly. When you arrive at the site you get the message that you are visiting "this site without coordinates to check". Was working fine this morning. -

Has anyone else noticed this ?? First noticed this evening-(was there yesterday)the cache icon has disapeared from the lower map on all cache pages. However it still shows up in the "print" pages (no logs, 5 logs, etc). -
Just one more little Bug -- on the "Your Trackable Item Inventory" page; the "Sort By:" Drop Down menu; the "Last Log (Newest First)" & "Last Log (Oldest First)"; - these 2 choices return the opposite of the intended results. Anyone else get this ?
