I think I DID bring up a hint that contained information that should be on the cache page. Especially if it says that you shouldn't do something at GZ. And being a newbie I like to bring the decrypted hint onto the field and only decrypting it when I think I need it. Which luckily happens less and less, but who knows what happens when we start tackling a higher difficulty than 3 stars... Noor

Wij hebben nu 2 caches in de sneeuw gevonden. 1 was alleen zoeken op eindpunt nadat het eerder na de multi-toch te donker was om verder te gaan. De andere is bevrijland (bij Oosterbeek) waarvan we de hele toch in de sneeuw gedaan hebben. Het enige minpunt was dat mn billen er bijna afvroren toen ik er even bij moest gaan zitten om het eind te berekenen. Met koud weer wandelen is zo erg niet, daar krijg je het wel warm van, maar je moet niet hebben dat je zo vijf minuten stil staat om te rekenen. Daarom wil ik (Noor) in de buurt van Arnhem eigenlijk winter-caches gaan leggen. Korte multi's of zo waar je wel lekker door kunt wandelen en niet te lang hoeft stil te staan. Mocht dit nou een slecht idee zijn, hoor ikhet graag! Noor

Ik ben het er niet mee eens dat een owner niet aan de logjes zou mogen zitten. Maar ook ik zie ook de logica van schoonpoetsen niet want vaak als wij een cache niet kunnen vinden kijk ik of meer mensen dat hadden of dat wij dus gewoon niet kunnen zoeken. Als eigenaars van 1 heel makkelijke traditional sinds eind oktober gepubliceerd heb ik al een log verwijderd waarvan ik niet snap dat de cacher dat zelf niet heeft gedaan. (ok waarschijnlijk niet gezien). Het was een dubbele found it log met exact dezelfde tekst. En deze telt wel mee in de statistieken voor de cacher. Verder werd onze cache opeens als found it gelogd op een datum voordat wijzelf ook maar met cachen begonnen waren. Zoals Kruimeldief al zegt is in het geval van spoilers haast geboden. Aan de andere kant staat er altijd boven de logs dat ze mogelijk spoilers bevatten...

I remember when creating my hide that it said you should not make long hints because they are difficult to decrypt in the field. I think that if you have any brains you can easily deduce that this also goes for useless hints. However there was this one time the hint was (in my opinion) particularly useless. We were caching in a small town nearby and just coming out of the extreme-newby situation so I decided it would be more fun not to automatically decrypt every hint but first see if we could do without. The cache description said that there was permission of the owner, so we started searching. After a few moments I found a board with the hint encrypted and decrypted giving the one-word real hint and that the owner of the site requested not to search between the plants... For us (even though we were careful) the warning was a bit late. Why not put this in the cache description? Noor

Why the doubt? I own more than 10 geocoins that I don't intend to circulate. And by comparison, my collection is tiny. Surely Groundspeak, which has a database of tracking numbers, would know how many trackables there are. I don't know how many numbers end up unused, but as they cost $1.50 each (I think) I don't think there's too many out there. But if you don't intend to circulate, could you say it's "out there in geocaches"? It makes you wonder if this also includes lost TB's that have been moved to graveyards?
