  1. OK back OT the 60Cs is a very nice unit very acurate due to its external anttenie and very sturdy not sure if they float though LOL there are all sorts of geocaching related goodies installed on the unit it self its just a matter of getting out there finding a cache then going home and breaking it errr i mean working it out then having to admit defeat and getting the desructions out good look with it and i hope it serves you well happy caching
  2. ok so i live up to my tag line but i never super glued paper towl to my fingers only frog's super glue gaffa tape and gripfill solve every problem in the world
  3. i sympathise as today i decided to remove signal the frog from my car ariel as he was putting a dent in the roof over 80 mph (not that i would know) and in the process of glueing him to my dash board managed to get him stuck to my finger and had to go to the local valeters (with frog attached ) to get some tar and glue remover so i could stick him to my dash , is it national super gluper day today ? i am sure your caches will be fine , ohhh here is a idea for your next cach put some of that non setting but extra sticky glue on the out side of the container and see how many cachers you can collect roll on cacher of the month as you will clearly win as no one else will be able to enter as they will be stuck to your cache happy caching craig
  4. The question is not whether the behavior is appropriate, but whether it is appropriate at a geocaching event. I wouldn't want my children around ANYONE doing that sort of thing, whether they be a married 80 year old couple or a group of 5 swingers. I don't think sexual behavior of any kind is appropriate at an event where children could be present. Wait till you get home. with my kids aged 10 and 3 , and as much as i dont like what has been going on at these events , i can say i only found out about it through GOSSIP look i dont condone (need a spell checker) what has been so called going on but as i say it has only become public because of gossip no one has flattened any grass at 3pm in the middle of kids dinner time or pushed me out of the way so they could get to the nearest bed in fact i knew none of this untill i was safe at home reading e-mails i agree with you saying keep it at home but still dont feel you cant take your kids to these events i mean if you were to go on a campsite any ware you dont actualy know whats going on around you do you ?????????????????????????????????????/
  5. Ok right I have been to some of the camping events with my kids aged 10 and 3 , and as much as i dont like what has been going on at these events , i can say i only found out about it through GOSSIP and not through actions that i have witnessed or heard first hand .............. i also feel that this thread has no merit on being here for the followin reasons 1 the folk involved are not going to come in here to be riped apart and "outed" 2 it will only serve to put off fellow family cachers from attending these kind of events wich would be a disaster as this kind of event is fantastic and has a power to bring people in to the same hobby together in the right way 3 the inocent people who got cought up in this may be trying to get things back on track and i dont think this thread is going to help that all i can say is that what is in the past is just that IN THE PAST and if some one has upset you doing what ever then take it up with them in private ! ! ! ! ! like i did say i took my kids had a great time lots of caching lots of mates made LONG LIVE EVENTS

  15. DING DING Well done A Mongolian man has broken the world record for being the tallest man alive. Xi Shun, age 54, from the remote region of Inner Mongolia, was recently measured at 7-feet, 8.95-inches (2-meters, 36.1-centimeters). The current holder of the Guinness World record for the tallest living man, Radhouane Charbib, is 7-feet, 8.9 inches, so Xi Shun is just 0.05 inches taller! Charbib has held the record since 1999. The new record-holder's mother is only 5-feet, 2-inches tall, while his father is 5-feet, 10-inches in height. According to reports, the new record-holder was a normal height for his age until his mid-teens. At that time he shot up after reaching the age of 16. Doctors have confirmed that his growth was natural, and not the result of a condition such as gigantism, which is caused by too much growth hormone. A spokesperson for the Guinness World Records stated that to find such a man alive and healthy is a "monumental occasion in record-breaking history." The tallest man to ever to live, however, was Robert Wadlow. He measured in at a staggering 8-feet, 11.1-inches tall. Born in Alton, Illinois, in 1918, Wadlow was already 7-feet, 4-inches by the age of 13. This earned him the title of the world's biggest Boy Scout.

  18. Not seeing a smiley I assume you are making a serious point so I will answer in a similar vein. You define an experienced cacher as someone who has done more than 500 caches. So 499 finds, a rookie, one more find and "Bing"! - now you know what you're doing. In my view, and in the view of Groundspeak who vet and approve all new reviewers, and in the opnion of all the other reviewers around the world who also get a chance to comment, Dave encapsulates enough qualities to make him an excellent addition to the reviewing team. Maybe he has "only" done 300 odd caches but I really don't see that as a problem. He has also been involved in negotiations with landowners and has organised a number of events. He has been a cacher for nearly 4 years, not long possibly but in geocaching terms that makes him an "old timer". I am totally confident in his ability to do the "job". I trust you will find my confidence well placed as time goes on. i seem to reamember some forum posts not so long ago that say the exact opposite to this but hey what do i know
