  1. Well, you snooze you loose I guess! I didn't know donorgirl was doing this or I would have watched! I had fun reading all of our would be sister's names if only mama and daddy hadn't given up so early. Of course we could have skipped the three brothers in the middle and made room for another sister or three! You think naming them was bad? You should have grown up with them! In order with correct spelling. Maria Mona Melanie Melissa (the cutest of the bunch, aka lissie) Michele (donor of the spare kidney) Marci Maybe I should do a cointest for all of our middle names! (Ha, ha)
  2. I am looking for a "Cat" coin for a special cacher. I had a couple but gave them away so now I need another! If you have an extra to trade (or sell), please send me an email. Thanks!
  3. We have an old WWII relic in our family who served in the Merchant Marines. I would offer to trade my 80+ year old daddy but my mama still likes him around! I do have a Code Talker GI Joe signed by 20 or so code talkers from WWII. This was done on armed forces day back in 2000 I think (they are dated but I am too lazy to look). The men listed their units and some noted that they were at Iwo Jima. The voice of the doll was also a Code Talker. He was there and signed also. I have a few of these as I made my children go with me! We gave one to my father on father's day that year. Seemed appropriate. I have a Code Talker print that was signed by many of those on Code Talker Day back in 1982. I am not sure how many of these men are still living now. I will have to check on that. You can tell I spent a bit of time in the Navajo area of New Mexico back when I lived in AZ.
  4. Thank you for your help. Hopefully we will have time for a search near the area. This will give me a place to start.
  5. I am working on some scrapbook/memory books for some cachers and thought I would add pages of the great quotes, sayings, dribble or idle mind wanderings on nature, hiking, geocaching or anything relevant. I have seen many neat things in many of your signature lines and posts but now that I need them, I can't find them. I am looking for serious and humorous (and anything in between). One I used was "Exploring my world one geocache at a time." That was about all I could remember. So please post your favorites. Thanks!
  6. Would someone in the know please post the waypoint name of the closest cache to Yankee Stadium? We will be there for Saturday's game and I thought if there was something really close we might have time to look. Thanks!
  7. I am not technologically gifted so go slow with me. I have been using a MeriPlat for two years with mapping program and SD card so that is what I am used to. I just purchased the 60CSx and so now the parts that I don't understand begin. City Navigator North America NT on preprogrammed microSD. Is this something that I want? I know the 60CSx can hold 1000 waypoints. If you use this card can you add additional waypoints to it? How does it differ from the non NT, whatever that means? Or is it better to get a 1 or 2 gig microSD card and MapSource City Navigator North America v8 DVD. Will a 1 gig card hold it all or will I need the 2? I have to have someone set it up for me so changing out maps is not something I can wrap my brain around. On the MeriPlat SD card I could store groups of waypoints so I only pulled up caches in a certain area and looked through those without having to scroll through 500 or so. Does this unit work the same way? I guess knowing this would somehow help me decide on the microSD card. There will be other questions I am sure after I actually turn the unit on, but I will start here for now so I can purchase my maps and get things set up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me through my profile. Thanks!
  8. The ticks are out in Nebraska! After poking around in a wildlife area today I have already found three. Even after what I thought was a thorough "tick check", shower and clothes change I just found one already latched on my scalp. I know I will feel things "crawling" all night now!
  9. jamrasc is a wonderful guide and hostess! Those young ones have a lot of energy and can really sniff out a cache!
  10. Damenace is a real sweetie. After reading my post in the trade forums (trading our End Station coin for coins to lure people to a CITO) he donated coins! I did trade the coin and they will all go to those who attend the CITO on May 6), Electric Mouse added a CITO coin and Damenace sweetened the pot significantly. I was stunned and still am. But it was a very happy day. I have thanked him several times, but hey one more doesn't hurt. THANKS! Good luck on your meeting! You guys are great!
  11. Still looking at all trade offers for End Station
  12. This trade will probably only interest a few of you die hard collectors, but here goes. I am hosting a CITO in May. Hopefully the details will be finalized and it will be posted by the end of the week. Since I am trying to coax many people into a fairly long drive to a more remote area of Nebraska to attend, I thought I would use coins as prizes. I have several of my extras that I am going to give away but I am looking for more. I have an End Station coin (my daughter’s not mine ) that we got recently when we completed nielsenc’s VTA series in California. Since the coin is fairly rare and you have to travel to CA to obtain one, I am hoping for a good trade. I don’t really care what coins I trade for as long as they would interest the greater geocaching population. I would even trade for multiples of the same coin as again, they will be used as raffle items or door prizes. I think I could probably sell the coin, but this way seemed more appropriate. Please email me through my profile. If I get any offers, I will decide by the end of next week. For trade: End Station coin Looking for the best offer of any coins.
  13. Can someone tell me what the approximate ship time is to Canada (from Nebraska)? Trying to judge whether I have enough time to wait on the Nebraska coin or if I should send another. I will also be sending a geocoin for the prizes.
  14. 2 Loggerhead Black Nickel LE w/ the bonus error coin (turtle looks cute in black too)
  15. Being 5’ nothing even on tiptoes, there are many caches that I can’t reach! I logged DNFs on each one until I got smart and bought a reaching/grabbing arm and after a bit of caching in certain parts of Nebraska added a stepladder to my geocaching arsenal. While certain caches may be easy for some, hiking through wildlife areas with a 3-step ladder can be difficult. You have to be creative and use whatever you can find in the georide or nature to retrieve and replace the cache. Then you do a lot of whining in your log about no respect! Gotta love the tall guys!
  16. Not a regular here but was excited to get our 3 End Station coins today from our recent excursion to San Francisco. Thanks nielsenc!
  17. Aha, another KSWader cache that I got to do while on the Kansas/Mingo with Contryguy and Still Searching. Except the cache title used the & symbol instead of the word "and". I will have to decide whether to join another site though to buy a coin. I have tried to avoid that.
  18. I believe (correct me if I am wrong, GH28) that this one will also have its own icon for those of you who are into the icon thing.
  19. I did your Cub Scout Cache while in Hoxie with some of the Nebraska guys on our Mingo trip. This is one of those coins that has meaning to me so I will definitely try to purchase one. Great coin for a great cause!
  20. I tried for awhile wanting the coin for a special fellow cacher, and then it dawned on me it is Christmas Eve. Stop with the refresh and enjoy your family. They bring me the happiness that no coin ever could. My cacher friend would agree. Warmest Christmas wishes to all.
  21. I agree with tands on the Atalaya Cache at Huntington Beach. There are a couple of other caches also in that state park but the house, history and grounds there are amazing. You could spend hours there just taking in the history and beauty of the place. Myrtle Beach State Park also has a few nice caches as well as the old Air Force Base that DiskDevil mentioned. I never ventured far enough north to do Vareen Memorial Gardens. I will have to add that one to my own to do list.

    Dnf Geocoin

Great event swag for some fellow cachers around here. 5 regulars and 1 LE for me please Thanks.
  23. Believe me its no act but I wish it were! Now that I have my head out from under the couch cushion, let’s get back to DiskDevil’s suggestion. Y'all go slow though so I can keep up.
