  1. how does that work exactly.. it's a team effort? so 10 guys on a team go hunting and they count all their finds togather? i should make a team of 1000 people and we all go find 1 cache! hee hee. are there any rules? do they have to stay togather in the group? or do they split up? someone please explain..
  2. and when does this years contest offically start?
  3. Kunsan Pagoda A couple months ago before I left Korea I had a cache in the City of Kunsan. See above hyperlink. Well one guy took everything and left of all things "Biscuts" actually they're crackers. Any way the guy took everything and left crackers! So I was alittle shocked. Naturally I didn't want crackers in my cache, so I went took out the biscuts and (ate them) placed in new very cool swag. (see pic) Now our friend came and made a trade of sunglasses, radio, little pamphlets for a PC game, Digital Camera, Timex Alarm clock. Oh well I guess that's what happens sometimes. Yes I realize that this happened a couple of months ago, but I've just not been to the fourms for awhile and I wanted to share this story with you today. WxGuesser.
  4. all good points... i'm setting up the cache tonight.. maybe place it tomorrow morning.
  5. from all the feedback.. it looks like this isn't the best idea. I guess i have alot of what i consider cool swag (ie.. older PC games and lots of dvd's that i never watch anymore) now if there were more larger containers to put them in.. also I realize that the age range is very large in geocaching and to many cachers mctoys are great treasures. hmmm and yes i guess if you did 5 caches at $5 a pop that could get kind of pricy.
  6. Honestly I'm getting sick of finding happymeal type toys in caches. Do you think it would be ok to set an aproximate $$ value for items in a cache? Of course the name of the cache and description would explain nicely that people should only leave items worth a certain value. Comments....
  7. I guess you're right about when I'm supposed to celebrate. 266 it is!
  8. I've found 133 so far but haven't been on the forums for awhile so i didn't log here when i hit 100... if i remember i'll log here when i hit 200... oh and it stinks that Benchmarks don't count in the total tally!
  9. I just went and my first 2 benchmarks today and I realized quickly that they don't count in my overall finds. I guess they aren't geocaches afterall.. but dadgum atleast count them!
  10. I tried that. But if anybody else wants to try... here are the cords N 38 18.967 W 122 08.038 the numbers on the benchmark are 63S and it was placed in 1947. P.S. there is a geocache about 50 ft from this benchmark.
  11. 1. I hate multi-caches. 2. Micros are fun to find and sometimes challenging. 3. Most caches are full of junk. 4. I like the ones where I have to do some hiking. 5. Magnetic micros on guardralis are too easy. 6. Never log a dnf on the first attempt! 7. Put your log book in a waterproof bag. 8. Put a pencil in your cache. 9. Get a trekking pole. (Great for crossing streams, climbing/decending hills.) 10. Read past logs and hints to try and figure out where the cache is.
  12. I guess I won't log it.. from reading the faq it looks like it's unloggable! dadgum it!
  13. Today while geocaching I found a benchmark in california it was actually pretty close to the napa/solano county line (maybe within 20 ft). Anyway the benchmark is stamped as 63S and was placed in 1947. How do I log this?
  14. Short Hop 93 ft is a pretty short distance... I thought one of my 3 miles trips was kinda short.. but this is really short..
  15. Clyde.. I keep getting a "corrupt version" popup and then it asks me if i want to back up the files.. if i click backup it backsup the files and closes gsak.. if i just say cancel it will continue working.. i've deleted gsak like 3 times and installed the newest version.. but no luck...any help on this would be great. also.. i'm wondering if there is a way that i can just update a current PQ on gsak without waiting from a new pq from gc.com. or do i just have to delete all my old waypoints/geocaches and load a new (currently updated) PQ?
  16. And it's not numbered... What to do?
  17. all i know is that i paid $345.00 for mine and i got it on ebay a few months ago. if you really don't care about saving your money.. just get it.. my 2 cents...i suggest getting city select software.. you can autoroute on your cs with that software.. I love it. I love to navigate by road and then when i get close just recalculate in offroad mode and it works like a charm.
  18. use this link and get your current pressure. http://www.uswx.com/us/wx/NV/KRNO/
  19. any updates on the "new" beta update.. has it been determined to be "safe" yet?
  20. oh yeah.. i'm a dork... you're right it dosen't need an unlock code! thanks for clearing up the auto routing question.
  21. ok.. i did a search but after reading 5 topics that didn't answer my question.... if i buy city select v6 can i autoroute on my 60cs unit? my wife bought me the newest metroguide but quite frankly it upsets me that i can't autoroute on my cs with this software. if i'm able to get what i want out of city select.. i'll sell metroguide. one unlock code left too also I went on ebay and i saw an update version.. is the update worth it? what's on the update cd?
  22. Did 2 caches while looking for a house.. many more to do around this area
  23. I'm paperless.. woo hoo... i'll probably never use cachemate now!
