  7. I have found several caches that were submerged ammo cans and the contents were dry.One cache was 15 feet under water!!! It was weighted down with a piece of metal tethered to the bail located under the catch. The cache owner told me that he tested the can in his swimming pool before placing it..He didn't add anything to the seal. Numberous times I have opened AmmoCans and heard a slight 'swish' of air. That is because the last time the can was closed, the temperature was alot warmer. That is telling me that the seal was air tight.
  8. I use the map page instead of the compass. Seems to put me right on the cache more often

  13. Thanks everyone...It's been alot of fun. And you are right Kev...You did provide 10% of those finds.
  14. My Garmin Legend is capable of doing the same...It's not a fluke, They are great little units. But no matter how 'spot on' your unit is. You are going by CoOrds that were given from someone elses Gps. If their unit is off. The legend will be also.
  15. Quoddy, How did you set up GSAK to display that info in your GPS notes??
  16. I use GSAK to transfer info to both my GPS and my PDA. Yes it does load the pda with all the info..I have cachemate installed in my PDA I have the discription, coords, ratings hints, past logs etc. etc. right at my finger tips. I JUST NEED TO GET IN THE SHADE TO READ THE PDA SCREEN!
  17. I see that Bushnell has entered the GPS market with a new line GPS's that have Satellite Imagery !! I believe it will allow you to view your postion with a screen similar to Goggle Earth' Pretty cool huh??? Look here
  18. Judging by the foggy weather in the 'caching pictures. I'd say they found that cache on Jan 1st. It looks like the same day that TwoCat took a picture at 'GerbiL CacHe'. So it is someone who logged a find on New Years day.(possibly)
