  1. Thanks for your replies, they have been a great help, I will try it out again this weekend.
  2. Hi, I have just purchased a Magellan Explorist GC and I have discovered that I am unable to enter coordinates in the format that they are in on the geocache.com website. When looking for multi caches or puzzle caches where you have to alter coordinates to get to the next stage of the cache I find that I cannot change them, e.g. if the coordinates are N51 48.059 W004 48.226 the Magellan coordinates are listed as 51 40'35"N 4 42' 8"W. Please could anyone give me guidance on this as the Magellan website tells me that you cannot enter coordinates manually but I am sure that there is possibly a way to enter coords as a waypoint. Thanks.
  3. Hi, while doing a series of caches named Vale Ring in South Wales recently I came across a live electric fence blocking a public footpath on farmland. Does anyone know of any official body that this can be reported to with a view to having it removed and access restored to this footpath. Thanks Dave.
  4. On a recent geocashing trip in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales I came across an electric fence which was placed across a public footpath blocking the way to the next stile and consequently the next cache in a series of caches. The name of the cache in question is Vale Ring #7. After reading the logs after the I did this cache I noticed that someone else had the same problem with this electric fence and had to miss out on the next three caches as a result. My question is this, is there any official body to which I can report this electric fence with a view to having it removed and access can again be restored to the the footpath.
  5. I have a Garmin etrex H gps with which I can only enter 6 digits, can anyone tell me if there is a gps out there which I can enter 7 digit codes. Thanks. Sunnyglade
  6. If you are doing it by hand, just forget the GC code. Many of us actually have the software that we use to load caches into our units strip the redundant "GC". My eTrex always displays 266RZ to me, not GC266RZ. We all know that they're there! What software is required to achieve this
  7. I use send to gps from geocaching website
  8. I am having problems entering GC codes to my e-Trex H gps. Some codes have seven digits to enter and my gps will only accept six digits. Is there a way to leave out the GC and just enter the remaining digits. Thanks Sunnyglade
  9. Thanks for your help, to answer your question my gps is an eTrex H and the points are loaded via geocache website using send to gps button. Thanks.
  10. Hi, I am new to this sport and I would be grateful for some advice on two points. !. when I download caches to my gps sometimes I get coordinates for where to park e.g. N51.30.213 WOO3.29.898 how do I know where to find this position. 2. Today I downloaded two caches in the same area which had identical codes except for the last letter eg. GC1DMDN & GC1DMDY when they were downloaded only one was listed on my gps as it only displays six digits and not the seven digits required to differentiate between these two. Thanks.
