  2. Have you tried:- Open unit on PC Mass Storage - Open a NEW Mapsource on the PC - Receive from Device - Waypoints Edit your received Waypoints [add or Remove] - Save to NEW.gdb Remove Oregon from PC - Turn ON - Setup - Reset - Delete All Waypoints Open unit on PC Mass Storage - Open the saved NEW.gdb Mapsource on the PC - Save to Device - Waypoints Sounds a long job but when you are familiar with it - cut out some of the moves! 3 minutes when I do it. I do not accept responsiblity for it going wrong but it works for me!
  3. eMap, GPSMap 60, GPSMap 60csx, 3 x iQues 3600, Colorado 300 and Oregon 300
  4. I knew it was there somewhere [although I had not used it recently] so I just tried it again. Created it in MapSource.
  5. I think this is already available for POIs and Waypoints on my unit.
  6. You have a choice to open the unit or not - but no choice for the SD card if you say yes to the unit!
  7. Does anyone beside me get frustrated every time they connect to the PC - the micro SD card opens up! As the Discoverer mapping software is not protected on these, I would prefer for the drive to open at my request. Also to take a screenshot is a pain when you see a worthwhile view you want to capture [WAAS]. You always get Screenlock and backlight. A personal choice depending on profile would be handy in the options - Screen lock/backlight or Screenshot!
  8. Yes, I had to do it twice as I have two different Discoverer areas and each card reverted to 2.80! I am wiser now and found that the SD cards are not 'Locked' and 'protected' so you can remove the outdated update. You can by mistake remove the map image and waste £120!
  9. 'Stuey' mentioned the quality of the Discoverer maps below 80m and I believe he was right:- Here is what we see on selected zoom levels with the 1:25 maps ------ Here is what we could see if Garmin cannot improve the quality:- ------
  10. [left Screenshots] Here are 3 initial screenshots of Discoverer when the software was released. [ RIGHT Screenshots] Here are 3 screenshots of Discoverer from the new software 2.94. . . . Generally, in a few months the Discoverer results have improved and in my opinion justify the cost [you get autorouting for all the UK as well - on CityNavigator Maps] The results for the 1:25 maps should improve but the results for 1:50 maps are very useful [zoom level 800ft, 0.2miles, 0.3miles 0.5miles] The zoom level 800ft and 0.2miles are particularly acceptable for my use and are better on the unit than the screenshot shows. BUT each Discoverer SD card comes with the outdated firmware 2.8, you must update to firmware 2.94
  11. Thanks for the feedback g-o-cashers - in fact Garmin's Website screenshots are now a poor reflection of what the maps are really like! See here: - https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=255...=33294#imageTab https://buy.garmin.com/shop/alt-image.do?pI...ageScreen1Large
  12. A very good comprehensive report. I find all points correct. Thank you.
  13. I have been unable do this!!! Any Help please Just found it!
  14. No but it jumps to non-Automotive mode and North up
  15. Changes made from version 2.93 to 2.94: * Report any problems with beta software to OregonBeta@garmin.com * Note: After updating, the first GPS acquisition will take longer than normal. After the Oregon has been on long enough to collect the necessary GPS data, acquisition times will return to normal. * Added ability to see a list of points from the map when several points are at the same location * Added ability to edit a waypoint from the waypoint review * Improved render quality of GB Discoverer maps and maps with satellite imagery * Improved Main Menu setup and added option to add and remove items. * Improved readability of configurable data fields * Fixed increased battery consumption and shutdowns in some units ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fantastic ...... ...... The quality of the Discoverer Maps is sooooooooo improved

  17. My comments above were as suggested 6.15.4 BUT Ken have you [like me] still got 6.13.7 operating? Perhaps if you have the problem it is for those who do not have 6.13.7 operating on the PC!
  18. No problem. I saved as .gdb and .gpx
  19. have you installed:- http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1627 http://garminoregon.wikispaces.com/Power#toc7
