  1. We bring hand sanitizer and baby wipes, for those times when we OOOPS into a poison ivy patch. Also, a bottle of calamime lotion and aloe vera. I have a small plastic box with snacks (young kids and diabetic mom). Lots of CITO bags. Pens and pencils, plus a small clipboard (carpal tunnel makes it hard to write on non-solid surfaces). Extra logs, ZIP locks, and a small box of trinkets to trade.
  2. Yeah, I had been there, but it didn't address the issue I was having. Luckily I found the answer here, and disabled my PDA synch I feel better now LOL
  3. Look at me! I now have 2, count 'em TWO, finds! What an awesome first day. The family and I are hooked.
  4. DPOPS, that was it. THANK YOU! I disabled my Palm and voila! It's working now. IVxIV, sorry I was vague. I have an HP Pavilion, Win XP Home, Garmin eTrex Legend, and was trying to set up EasyGPS Thanks!
  5. I can't seem to get my computer to read my GPS from the PC Interface Cable (I've also connected it to a USB to Serial cable; same thing). It seems that I need a driver, which I can't seem to locate on either the Garmin site or anywhere else. I've tried to find an answer to this, and I can't. Help! There are caches out there calling my name!
  6. A friend introduced me to this forum, and www.geocaching.com about a year ago. She's a homeschooler, and sent the link as a fun thing to do with the kids. As a Girl Scout leader, I immediately saw the many, many things I could do with my girls in geocaching. I've been reading posts, many of the cache information, and updates on units for months, and I finally took the step. I bought my GPS this afternoon, and while I'm sitting here typing to you, I'm listening to my video in the background. I ended up with the Garmin eTrex Legend. It seemed very user friendly, and although it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles, it is very functional for what I'm using it for. If I end up becoming a die hard, then I'll pass this one down to my DH and get a different one for me. My dad has the eTrex, and he loves it. I'm going to try to set up some waypoints, and see if we can locate some caches tomorrow after church. Wish me luck! And THANK YOU for the wonderful information. I'm excited to get started!
