  1. I've been unable to obtain activation codes for these coins.... keep getting an error message about a server error. Anyone else encountering problems, or is it just me?
  2. Bought my GPSr to keep me from getting lost when riding my horses out on the trails. I googled GPS and stumbled upon GC.com, thinking I'd hunt a few caches to learn how to use the unit. Little did I know! My husband now describes my caching habit as rabid.
  3. I usually don't know what I'm talking about, and may not in this case either, but... The US and Canada United We Stand coin has a non-standard logo.... I'd post a link or pic of the coin but I'm technically challenged.
  4. Beautiful! Just used the link to order one of each. Thanks~
  5. I think the pics in his gallery are histerical! I didn't look at all of them, just a couple of pages to see that (in my mind anyway) there was no obscene content. I'd heard of nudecacher before in the forums, but never even thought that he'd post pics. Okay, that said, my husband would probably describe me as a prude And, I don't think it's something I'd ever engage in.... don't want to be responsible for scaring the heck outta some poor innocent cacher when they stumble upon me at a cache!
  6. You bet I'd go after a cache like that, but only if it was indeed in bedrock. We have old mines out here that I wouldn't go into for any cache; I think they're left overs from the gold discovery/mining days. We also have some very large natural caves but most are protected and hiding a cache would probably not be allowed. Wish we had caches like that here in CA. (maybe we do, but I'm unaware).
  7. Clever design. Email sent for 2 BN. Thanks!
  8. Well, you could take satisfaction in knowing that you saved another person from the same frustration you're going through. Damenace was kind enough to email me with the name of the company he's using and I think, based on his endorsement, I'll use them. Hope your coins are well worth the wait! P.S., please email me with the name of the company you're not recommending. Many thanks! Chance...
  9. None here either. Sheesh, as a brand new collector, I'm already giving up on C & P and the Compass Rose coins. Congrats to those (lucky few) of you who managed to order some!
  10. I don't mean to add to your frustrations, but I contacted a company September 13th to inquire on having a coin minted in a 30 day time frame, they told me it was possible . During the talks, they had sent off the request to have the art drawn up. Please realize I submitted no art work, rather gave my ideas and suggestions . Two changes to the art work later and I signed it off this afternnoon . Coins are on there way to the mint and should have them by the 13th of October, now thats service . Is it kosher to ask which company you contacted? I have a couple of very rough ideas about what I want on a coin, but am challenged in the creativity department. Thanks!
  11. This is one of my favorite threads to read because of the excitement the Geocoin Fairy has generated. Then, to see the generousity of folks like Damenace, well, it really illustrates that there are indeed some pretty good people out there! Way to go!
  12. OOHH, OOHH, OOHH, I just love the Napa Valley, Yountville and St. Helena. I guess I am just a littel partial to that area. That was the area I was born and most of my family still resides. My Grandma lives just off the St. Helena HWY. (Solano Ave.) on Newells Cir. Alright, back to the normally scheduled program . Damenace, the areas you referred to are where I learned to love wine... I've stayed up in that area many times. We're a bit further south, in the Fair Play area (outside Placerville). Probably about 25 wineries within a 10 - 20 minute drive from us. Possibly what Napa was like when it was "younger"?
  13. Yep, even Lodi would be nice... but just think how nice a trip to the CA gold/wine country foothills would be! We just don't have much more than a dirt strip for an airport Lots of great wine tasting and small historic towns. Sadly, probably no Geocoin Fairy visits.... just have to keep living vicariously (sp?) through the great finds of others!
  14. I was excited to see that The Geocoin Fairy had made it to California again.... but, apparently TGF's flight path doesn't extend to Sacramento Makes me wish (okay, almost wish) that we still lived within 95118. Would have been SO close. Congrats to all you South Bay folks lucky enough to pick up that very special coin!
  15. Very cool idea... I'm still using my "old" GPSr, an eTrex Vista, but when the time comes to upgrade, donating it somewhere is a great idea.
  16. Definitely the sunshine! Although I AM ready for some cooler days.
  17. I must be dumber than a stick, because now I'm confused. If you gave up on the PDF file, does that mean that if we submitted by PDF we need to re-submit in another manner? I don't want to add to the confusion by adding to the email burden.
  18. Email sent with PDF order for 2 regular and 1 LE.
  19. I can't even get the order form to load! Must be because we live out in the sticks and are stuck with dial-up. I'd like to order two regular coins.... please send PayPayl invoice. Emailing account info. Thanks!
  20. And now, you (don't) know the rest of the story
  21. POS, great pics of Maddie and her coin! I'm so glad you were able to get her one... she looks like one happly little girl!
  22. Very nice! Hoping I can still order one of each... the store lists them as on backorder right now.
  23. At least Vancouver Island has an airport! I think ours is little more than a dirt strip.
