  1. I too am very disappointed. One of my main reasons for upgrading from the first watch to the newest one was because it had a GPS and would be better to use the geocaching app... so I assumed. Perhaps cachly will work!
  2. I see why Geocaching.com wants to limit the amount of caches non-paying users can see, but limiting it to 1.5/1.5 is a little too restrictive in my opinion. Maybe raise that up to 3/3, to give beginning cachers a better taste of what Geocaching is all about.
  3. It's great that we have Offline Lists now for the new app, but in no way is it as functional as the Classic app. Two things really bug me, one is that if I look at any of these lists, I can't find a way to display them in a Map View. Also, when navigating to any cache (offline or not) where is the option for OpenCycleMap? That map is almost a necessity when you are in a large park and are going from cache to cache and want to see which trail you should take.
  4. Okay... my original question has been answered, but now I wonder about the above statement. I didn't see in the guidelines anything about the above; nothing about other listing sites specifically, and more importantly nothing about automatically archiving a listing because of it. Shouldn't the reviewer simply instruct them to remove it before archiving it? I obviously don't know about the history behind some of the guidelines, so I'm guessing at some point this might have been a big problem?
  5. I was interested to know why he couldn't mention the entire series in the cache description; it just seemed odd reading the listing, knowing there was more to it than what was being described. I was expecting to see it reference the other sites but it didn't. Now I know why. Thanks, y'all.
  6. I am not going to provide the cache, it's not about whether or not he did something wrong, because he didn't do anything at all wrong in the cache listing. I was wrong in my original post, the CO never said anything about contacting him regarding the other caches, just to contact if anyone needed assistance. It's implied that there are other caches, but he doesn't mention them specifically. But what I want to know is, if the cache listing doesn't require you to go to another website to find the cache for this particular listing, but references other listing sites simply to mention the existence of the other caches, what's wrong with that (he doesn't do this, I just don't understand why he can't)? Going to the other listing sites is not required to find this particular cache, cachers are not being forced there to get the smiley. So, I guess he can't mention the existence of the other caches because "it contains the name of a business or commercial product"?
  7. I heard about a series of caches that were hidden in another state that to complete, and get the bonus cache, you had to find caches published on other caching sites. The cache description for the one posted on GC does not mention any other sites, he just tells you to contact him for more information if you need help discovering the other caches in the series. He never mentions the other sites on his listing, however, I can't find anything in the guidelines that says you can't mention them. Can someone point out to me where it says you can't mention another caching site in your listings?
  8. Send me the info, I'll see if I can recover it for you.
  9. Thanks for all the advice! We got permission from the previous owner to re-use his nano.
  10. I'm pretty sure it's not active on another site; we found it three years ago and mentioned then that it needed a new log since it was a couple of lines away from being full... we went back to check it out last week and found the log hadn't been replaced. Is it okay to take it (it's a little tiny magnetic nano) and use it at the new spot (100ish feet away)?
  11. Is it okay to place a new cache in the same area as an archived one? The old cache is still there but was archived since it wasn't maintained. Or should we take over the maintenance of the old cache and get it un-archived? Thanks for any suggestions/advice.
