  1. Just when I get used to something....it changes! I was responding to page 62 message from Bill of Green Achers asking for anyone reading his to just respond. OK, here it is on the new format. *************** Bill...I've been busy. I've posted half a dozen or more *hides* in the last few days. The GeoCrickets found three of them in short order....they are the closest cachers to them. Meanwhile, the *gas rationing* influenced by the current *unpleasantness* is probably cutting into caching a bit I suspect. ************** Here's a thought too. When George and Marky hit 1,000, any guesses on how long it will take to find the NEXT 1,000? I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  2. . . This cache ...3 Strikes, You're Out! is now back in business. Anyone who found it before can find it again. It is in a new location and is a new container. Have fun ! Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  3. LilDevil... Downloaded the new 2.0.....now to figure out how to use it! Catmit... All it takes is time, gas and an overwhelming desire to find film cannisters. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  4. ....I caught up with the Camelot crew. I arrived about 5 minutes after they did and found the tool missing so I looked around and found the crew about 2/3 of the way through the pursuit. I just tagged along for the find, but I would recommend to anyone who happens on other cachers doing this one, to go hide your head in the sandpile for awhile and then go for it on your own. Of course if you're part of husband/wife team it wouldn't matter much, but sometimes even those folks like to do individual finds. This was a good one. I hope it doesn't start repeating itself on every corner though. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  5. ... I'd be dizzy too if I had to look at all of Kablooey's mazes for very long. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  6. ....I posted a request on my Fly Ball cache for someone who is in the area to check it out. This would of course be someone who has ALREADY found it. Two cachers, one with a large number of finds, one with a few finds, couldn't locate it. Any volunteers? Thanks.... Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  7. ....no, not 18 wheel drivers, but cachers who don't mind a long hike for a handful of finds. My two new caches near Patti's Point are approved now. If you're interested, start here at Gale Ridge and follow the drop-down box link at the bottom to the new Stargate cache and finally to Patti's Point. This trail provides seven caches in a 9.5 mile hike (one way). It takes the better part of a day to do the entire length (and back), but if the weather is good, the scenery is fantastic in spots and right now the wildflowers are in bloom, particularly from the Kiln forward to Patti's Point. This is not a trail to hike in the dead of summer ! Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.

  10. ...instead of the war.... and worked on my Patti's Point chain of caches. All the redo is done on that one and the associated caches as I added two new ones which are not yet approved. The new ones are Gale Ridge and Stargate. These are both west of Patti's point..on the way to the point. Now the hardy cacher/hiker/horse-person can go for seven caches in a row. So far only Two Dollar Bill has made the trek. Spring is here! Caching, golf and being thankful for being an American. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  11. At 7 pm Sunday...anyone else having trouble accessing the web site for *my cache page* or looking at individual cache pages? I spent some time at Pardee Lake recently, checking on my Patti's Point and Olive Grove caches, and put two new ones in as well. They aren't published yet, and now I'm having trouble getting back to them to do some more editing. Site must be on overload ! Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  12. Edit.. I thought my earlier post had disappeared ! Ron
  13. ...but maybe one of the other old-timers did. This Puppy is only 1000 feet away from the CFH cache of August, 2001, but apparently it is now archived. Kablooey, Buxley? I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  14. . . A round of golf at Rancho Murietta with Putt, MikieP and Putt's friend Dick, followed by some light caching just south of Sac. The best of both worlds. Thanks Putt for the gift of golf at your club. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  15. .... What a great day !

Please!!!! george http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/39570_500.jpg Pedal until your legs cramp up and then pedal some more. Just strap a 100 gallon tank on your car and head for the bay area or Los Angeles ! I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  17. ....my overall found count is short by about 252 caches. I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  18. .... to play golf with Putt and MikieP. I knew this geocaching would pay off someday! Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  19. ..... Swimming comes to mind. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  20. ....I just looked at the definiton on my pocket query and saw that I had not checked the members only box. I guess originally I thought I didn't need it as at that time, I don't think central valley cachers were making their caches MO caches. The next time I generate this query it should show me the few that ARE MOs. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  21. ....I'm confused. I just looked at the pocket query for a definition I have that shows caches I have not found within 200 miles. I have been using this for sometime and when I did the latest download, the work for WATCHER and the PLUCKER work, I notice that the page description for STAN WHO? does not come up. There are very few MEMBERS ONLY caches in our immediate area (aside from mine) and it looks to me like Members Only caches don't come up in the pocket query. OR DID I MISS including them in my pocket query request? I have some other thoughts on this, but will wait for an answer on this part first. So, my question is, do MEMBERS ONLY caches come up in pocket queries? Thanks... Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  22. . . Arlene....well, I should have been wearing my geocaching hat! I wondered if there were any caches around, but it was a non-caching outing, so they'll have to wait 'till another time. . . Jaimee...my guess is that the geocaching servers are just lagging, and that Pat is looking at a cache page and sees a *find* or *note* before the geocaching server has a chance to get an email to him. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  23. ....non-caching day. We went to Murphys today for a nice little local parade and festivities celebrating St. Patricks Day. A bagpiping group was the hit of the day as were the little children decked out for the parade. A beautiful sunny day...for which all the locals were grateful as the creek in the park was running at bank level with red water after heavy rains last night. The little park was converted into an old Irish/Scottish village with about 5 tents and 50 very authentic looking folks in flowing old Irish garb. The Kautz Winery has 300,000 blooming daffodils lining the road to the winery and many tuplips, crocus and other beautiful flowers at the buildings. I recommend it for a nice day trip. Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
  24. ...I just talked on the phone to Two Dollar Bill from Sutter Creek who made the trek to Patti's Point and looked for all five caches along the way. He found #1, #2 and #4 along the 19 mile round trip but had some questions about #3 (Olive Grove) and #5 (Patti's Point) so looks like I'll be taking a big hike soon! Ron I've never been lost. Fearsome confused sometimes, but never lost.
