  1. Just to let everyone know, the cache page has now been archived and the website changed to display just minimal information. In addition to this we have included a link to the Statement of accounts that we previously said we would publish. See the Mega Scotland website for the details.
  2. Good luck also from everyone on the Mega Scotland team
  3. Just to let you all know that the Mega Scotland organising team have now produced thier latest Geocoin and this is shown below. The new coin, available in both limited and regular editions, is in honour of the renowned Scottish botanist David Douglas who was born at Scone (which is close to where to Mega Scotland 2010 is being held) in 1799. As a result of his expeditions overseas David Douglas introduced over 200 species of plants to Britain and in recognition of his achievements, the Douglas Fir tree was named after him. Please visit our Céilidh & Coin page for more information. We would also like to thank both Groundspeak and everyone else's continuing support of Mega Scotland 2010
  4. Coin For those who have been following the Mega Event so far, you will know that we held a Kids Geocoin competition during the Summer. The result of this was that the winning designs were chosen to be used for our latest coin and our Haggis / Nessie coin is now available from the Mega Scotland website. Just click on the coin below and your browser should open up on the correct page. Calendar The Mega Scotland 2010 calendar is selling well and would make an ideal Xmas present for geocachers or non geocachers alike. It has been produced using stunning photographs of Scottish scenery and all the images have all been taken by members of the organising team. The back page of the Calendar lists the location where each photo was taken. (The calendar is available via the link at the foot of this email) Camping event Since our last update we have looked at further camp sites and we now have what looks like an almost perfect location. There are still a couple of points to clarify/agree with the site owner but it's looking like everyone will be able to camp close together in a single location. Further details will be announced on the website and by email when available. Céilidh (pronounced Kay-Lee) This is a fantastic opportunity to sample a traditional Scottish party and the Céilidh music will be provided by a live band along who will also explain how to do each dance. Céilidh’s are different from Scottish Country Dancing in that it is much less formal and the primary purpose of the evening is course to have a good time. The Céilidh will be held in the Dewars centre in the evening of the Mega event (31st July 2010) and there will be food, dancing and drinks available until 12 midnight. Please note that we expect this to be a popular event and as the space in the hall is finite we have been advised that we need to restrict the number of people that can attend to 300. The cost of the ticket is solely to fund the event and you can get yours via the following link. www.megascotland.co.uk/ceilidh-coin-calendar Regards
  5. In order to help raise funds the Mega Scotland Team have decided to produce a calendar with pictures from around Scotland. Full details of size and quality along with sample calendars can be viewed at www.megascotland.co.uk/calendar Orders for these are currently being taken on the website and will be dispatched from the end of October. They will also be available at some events between now and the end of the year. Mega Scotland thank you for your continued support.
