  1. I would not hesitate to use the 76csx especially if you averaged them for any length of time. That GPS has been one of the very accurate ones.
  2. On your Oregon do the following: Open the Setup Menu > Open the Tracks Menu > Open Track Log Record, Show on Map > You now have three choices. 1. Do not record. 2. Record, Do not Show. 3. Record, Show on Map. Click on number 3.
  3. I did a couple of caches this afternoon with my Oregon and PN40SE side by side and the Oregon is definitely improved, I am almost tempted to say greatly. I experienced no overshoot and as you arrived at GZ it was steady and pointy like right where it is supposed to be. It was advantage Oregon today!
  4. I would think that all means all. You cannot hurt anything by removing all of them!
  5. Hmmmmmm, I had 51 FTF's in a month, I think I might be one!
  6. I am pleased with the new macro. Quite possibly this will open some eyes about the flexibility of GSAK and the programs benefit to the Geocaching community. Now, is there a way to speed up the loading just a bit. I did not get an actual time, but it seemed like an eternity loading the 975 geocaches. Don't get me wrong, the macro does wonders. I like it.
  7. I do think there was a hiccup in the system earlier. I updated to a new email and tried to get my validation code last night and it never came. Tried it again this morning and it came right through with no problem.
  8. On the compass page set up one of the data windows to show distance to destination. You can set each of the little windows up as you choose. On the map page do one with the distance to destination and another with the compass pointer and you have the best of both methods.
  9. John What format was the file? .LOC or .GPX? It has to be .GPX and the text should show up under the comments section of the way point listing.
  10. The cache owner in the cache listing has access to all of the stages to the multi-cache and that includes the coordinates. It appears from reading the logs that there are two or more possible numbers to use at the first stage to work the puzzle. If your not finding stage two with your numbers you might try and redo the first stage using the other number that folks are talking about. Good luck with your hunt!
  11. I have cached hard the last two weeks in the Buffalo Area and have not had one location error. Heavy tree cover was no problem and being in the Niagara Gorge was not a problem. The hesitation in bringing up descriptions is still quite noticeable and I am also seeing a longer than normal delay updating while using CN9NT, actually a much longer than normal delay.
  12. I have been caching hard since the 2.70 upgrade and have not had any location errors. I have also noticed that the accuracy seems to be quite a bit more stable. I think they have done something cause it is working a lot better than it was. One thing I have noticed that I did not have before is a hesitation or lag when bringing up the cache information page and then going to logs or hints. Sometimes it is several seconds or more.
  13. In XP your GSAK directory was under the Program or program Files directory I believe. In Vista GSAK should be installed into the GSAK directory and that directory should be a stand alone directory C:\GSAK Try re-installing it as above and you will probably be OK. You should then be able to copy your database files from your old GSAK to the newly installed GSAK.
  14. To erase your waypoints and geocaches hit the find key. This should bring you to your list of caches. On the page with your list hit the Menu key - move your cursor down to delete and hit enter. You then have a choice of all symbols or you can delete them by individual symbol. I cannot remember about the POI database, but it seems to me that if you load another batch that database will be overwritten. Good luck with it.
  15. Go to the Compass Page / Menu / the choices here are Course Pointer or Bearing Pointer. If your in Course Pointer then the menu offers Bearing Pointer and vice versa.
  16. I'll tell you what, I have my old 60CSx that I don't use a whole lot anymore since I got my Colorado, I am willing to trade you even up. The 60CSx has topo and CN in it so it will autoroute. Want to make a deal? A little bit of drifting around is considered the norm for the newer GPS platforms with the high sensitivity chips. I would make sure that you let it set with a clear view of the sky for about 30 minutes so the GPS can build its index of satellites properly.
  17. I have all of NA NT loaded on a 2 GB Sandisk Ultra card. Follow the advice of those above and get yourself the card reader. Definitely faster and easier to handle the NT loading that way.
  18. Just confirming that there is no gap at all on my screenshield that is on my Colorado.
  19. Out with the Colorado yesterday and noted the following: Recalculating after going off route happened within 100 yards or so, maybe a bit less. While the compass in the geocaching mode works better it is still not right. Swing to the left, swing to the right and then settle down? Sometimes. The delete waypoint does cause my unit to shut down. It did not do that previously.
  20. I have used Invisible Shield for several years now on three different models of GPS'r and except for their crazy shipping methods have had no problems what so ever. The Screen I have for my Colorado fits perfectly. So, maybe you did just happen to get a bad one.
  21. I did not make note of the distance before a re-calculation would take place, only that it happens quicker than it did previously. I will be out and about today so I will keep an eye on it.
  22. Did a few caches today and one thing I noticed is that the compass is much better. The 400T handles the slower moving walking much better now in the compass mode. Also the auto routing works much quicker as it re-calculates when you get off route.
