Now, I have said before, I am not a huge cacher. Last time I really cached (back in Jan.) I dont remember such a massive explosion of TBs and geocoins... Is this just me? Or was I oblivious to this all? Has anyone else thought about that with a bajillion travel bugs out there, travel bug prisions are gonna be popping up more? Or MIA TBs?

Looking for boxes to wrap gift in I came upon my Magellen SporTrak GPS box. In it was a cord!!! I have no idea what this does. it looks like it connects to my gps where the batteries are then the otherside may*may not connect to my computer? what is the cord for and how do i use it?

i love nite caching in the RAIN. Put on a big ol poncho and still get soaking wet... tromping through muddy trails... its the only way to do it. one cache could take a couple of hours if you pick a good one.

I use my gps (Magellan Sportrak Map) by inputting coords by hand. Thoughts on what i can do to improve this? People talk about downloading waypoints and maps and routes... do you need software or something?

yeah! i love the idea of this intense two week period of caching. its not so much about the numbers as it is the goal.

Okay, so when 2006 started off I made a promise to cache more and reach 100 finds. It started off really good... I mean, I am not a huge cacher so logging one or two caches a week was good for me. well, by feb. i had forgotten about that resolution. i just remembered it last night, and decided that these final 2 weeks of 2006 i would find 74 caches, reaching my resolution! im thinking 6 a day would be ideal... but today i only got 4 done... are there any tips you vetrans have for finding caches as fast as possible?

personally, although going to such extremes seems incredibly silly, i think its not in the grand scheme of things. honestly, if i did not have a clue about caching, i would find it very strange for a couple of people who are probably looking around, making sure that no one is watching, and concealing a medium sized container to be suspicious. bomb wouldnt be the first thing to pop into my head, but i have not been trained to think that. if something were to happen (God-forbid!) like a bomb going off and it surfaced that someone had noticed such supicious behavior, the public would have flipped. they are just doing their jobs.

i'd like to know too. i think i would trade alot of my cds if it were up to me. or my cdplayer or something. the best i have found is silly putty. i like the buttons alot too. those always excite me. of course i have only done like 15 caches. im still a newbie i suppose.
