  1. Works perfectly. Thanks, Mare. I specifically remember your invoice timing out...and me having to send it again. That's what I get for invoicing on my iPhone when I'm supposed to be watching a high school soccer game. The other parents must've thought I was a college scout.
  2. Wow, good news to hear that some invoices are making it through. I've had a couple of people send emails saying they got an invoice, but there's no "receipient" to pay. Apparently, PayPal's mobile app isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm back home now, so I'll finish off the invoices using the big boy computer. I'll still need to contact a few people who didn't include an address. I kinda need it to know what to charge for shipping. Also, it seems that I have a scatter of requests using other email addresses, which is why I created the new email addy. I just can't track all of those down and compare who was first, yadda yadda yadda... Sorry folks. A re-mint is still under consideration, so let me get through this PayPal mobile mess and I'll assess the feasibility. Obviously, the coins wouldn't be available until after Breast Cancer Awareness month is over.
  3. Ooooooooooh...purdy! Excellent stuff as usual from Tsun. You can always tell she puts a lot of work into her art. Now if the Vikings can only put a little more work into their art... *grumbles something about Favre's fumble-itis*
  4. Under normal circumstances with my previous YemonYime coins, I have always stuck to my own self-imposed edict of no re-mints. However, I gotta admit...I wasn't at all prepared to receive so many touching stories from people for whom breast cancer has affected. It's hard to fathom how widespread and commonplace this disease has become, and I'm here to say that I've been educated much more than I could have ever expected. At this time, I'll need to focus on sending out invoices and finishing the customizations involved with these coin packages. I'll work on considerations for a re-mint when the pink dust settles in my art room.
  5. Hi everyone, I'm back now and sorry to say that reservations are now closed for the Pink Yimes. Please do not consider the timestamp on this post as an order deadline, as the available number was probably passed a few hours ago. I have a phone-full of e-mails to sort through and I know there won't be enough to go around. For those of you whose requests came through first, look for an invoice sometime within the next 24 hours. I will try my best to contact those for whom I cannot fulfill an order, and to those folks, I hope that you understand. This was (and continues to be) a very labor-intensive project!
  6. A couple people have asked what I mean by "Album Covers". A while back, I got to thinking...you get these coins in plastic or vinyl flips with a sleeve on both sides, right? And I've seen companies include something basic stuff in there, like their website or activation information. But I kept thinking back on the days when you'd go to the record store and immediately recognize a band or even a type of music by the distinctive artwork on their album covers. (Old schoolers...think Yes, Pink Floyd, or Journey) So, like the modern-day equivalent of a CD-jewel case that flips open, I decided to begin including some of the coin's original artwork in the sleeves of my new designs. Here's a pic of the Pink Yime packaging to better show ya... On the inside of the cover art, I borrowed Toojin's idea of including "The Challenge" with each individual coin, so as to remind any re-sellers of the purpose of this coin's creation. The liner notes read: "The Pink Yime geocoin was created to help foster awareness and promote donations towards the prevention of breast cancer. Please consider a small donation to any breast cancer charity...and carry on the challenge." The 10-10-10 Pittsburgh Event is also noted, as it's the place where the coin originated.
  7. Yikes! My phone's blowing up with e-mails! Heh, gotta turn off push notifications for now, but keep 'em coming if you would like a Pink Yime. Here's the ordering information cut and pasted: ~~~~~~~ { Pink Yimes } are now available. The price is $15 each, or $28 for two, and includes a Pink Yime trackable geocoin with its own unique icon, my custom "Album Cover" flip art, and a Pink YemonYime Pin...all in a custom logo pink velvet drawstring pouch. In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, all profits from the sale of Pink Yimes will go towards a registered charity that focuses on the prevention of breast cancer. If you would like to order, please send an e-mail to pinkyimes@yahoo.com that includes your name, mailing address and e-mail for PayPal billing. Shipping (with Delivery Confirmation) will be added and estimated fairly based on your location. ~~~~~~~ As mentioned earlier in the thread, there is a limit of 2 per order. This should allow for more people getting their hands on 'em, and I do have a decent number still available at the time I'm typing this. Okay, now to post a few pics...
  8. Hi all, { Pink Yimes } are now available. For those of you on Facebook, ordering information is now posted on my new page for YemonYime Design...HERE. I'm working on posting a few quick pics here, and then I'll cut and paste the same info here in a few minutes.
  9. Excellent idea. Exactly the finishing touch needed here. As some may know, many of my designs now include a special custom coin flip cover with some cool art to give the coin what I like to call a great "presentational appeal". Now that you mention it, you hit the nail on the head...the challenge needs to somehow be attached closely with the coin itself, so let me see if I can work this into the packaging!
  10. { Pink Yimes for Prevention } Friends, colleagues and geocoin enthusiasts over the world, it's a true pleasure to present to you my contribution towards the worldwide efforts to raise awareness of the devastating effects of Breast Cancer. This will be a long read, but I encourage you to take the time to do so, because the intentions are noble. The Pink Yime is the first and only re-mint of a YemonYime geocoin (V3), and will be available on a very limited basis beginning tomorrow at the 10-10-10 Pittsburgh Event. The Pink Yime has an elegant satin finish, and will come in a custom labelled pink velvet pouch that also includes a pink YemonYime pin. All profits (and some of my costs) from the sales of this geocoin during the month of October will be donated to the one specific charity that I feel can do the most good towards the prevention and/or early diagnosis of Breast Cancer. After October, I will continue to donate a portion of any future sales of this geocoin. My wife recently turned 40, and we were pleased to find that she checked out just fine in her long-awaited first mammogram. But since cancer doesn't give a dammn* about the number 40, or whether or not you have medical insurance, my hope is to put this relatively small, but significant donation towards some real, tangible action that could possibly make a difference in somebody's life. There are hundreds of Breast Cancer charities that do wonderful things in promoting "awareness". Yet, as much as we all deeply appreciate their extensive efforts to bring this worthy cause to the forefront, I tend to think that the majority of us are already quite aware. For the past few months, I've been gathering information from a very helpful website, charitynavigator.org, and I've discovered some pleasant (and unpleasant) information about some of the charities that deal with Breast Cancer. I'd like to hear your opinions and suggestions, and I'll eventually announce my choice of a charity. Please feel free to contact me at this address: pinkyimes@yahoo.com. Please Note: I really don't use PM, and I rarely have the time to check the e-mail routed through my GC account. Please just use the "pinkyimes" e-mail, thanks! I would also ask that you be patient in your requests for reservations. If I have some remaining after the event, I'll give instructions on how to get these at a later time. Please know that I will have a strict limit of 2 per person both at the event and anywhere else afterward. You'll see why in a moment... I want you all to know that I've always been very grateful for your support and appreciation of the YemonYime geocoins, Compass Rose Geocoins™, and any of my other designs. I consider myself blessed to be on your radar, and I honestly enjoy giving something back in ways such as this and others that I've participated in before. This is a great community, full of kind people willing to give of themselves for causes they believe in. At this time, I'd like to address and acknowledge the effect that the eBay aftermarket has on "limited edition" geocoins such as these, and issue a specific, conscious challenge to forever be associated with The Pink Yime Geocoin... For anyone, who at any time, chooses to resell a Pink Yime Geocoin...I hereby CHALLENGE YOU ON YOUR HONOR, to donate a part of your own re-selling profits to any established Breast Cancer charity. I CHALLENGE YOU to state this in your sale or auction, and encourage others to look for this when they spot a Pink Yime on sale, or on auction anywhere it may be. I'll be doing it, so how about you? That's pretty simple, and harmless when you consider that this is a cause that will effect someone you know at some point in their life. Even a small amount goes towards something positive, so let that forever be the focus and intention of this specific geocoin. Thanks for reading, and I'll post an update after the event. Yime * Edited for emphasis.
  11. Workin' on getting some shut-eye here, but I'll have a formal announcement and pictures in a few hours. These will be on hand first at 10-10-10 Pittsburgh tomorrow. After some much-needed zzz's, I'll stop back and explain what I mean by a "new challenge", and how I hope this coin will generate a ripple effect to last well beyond October.
  12. NEW COLOR - NEW ICON - NEW CHALLENGE Details later this afternoon.
  13. What's that ya say, skippy? I can't READ ya! Excellent work, as always, by "The Mack"!

  15. I just won a 10 Years QR Code Geocoin on ebay and didn't pay any where close to $510. Ended up being a little better deal than buying it from his store. My personnel Geocoin will also feature a QR code on it. Maybe they'll be the next big thing? Maybe. I was toying with the idea of doing one on my V2 coin, but I guess it's no longer a novelty so I need to think of something else unique. V2 could feature a genuine cooked noodle around the outer ring, under a clear epoxy. I'm sure the mint has access to noodles.
  16. On December 11th, 2005, "Sherri's Coin" sold for $1527.00. (Edited to add the auction pic.)
  17. Steph, I know you're a good soul, and that you're going to try to come up with something to make this person happy...but you're not a corporation with a customer service department. Folks need to accept the risk that packages can get lost in the mail...especially when crossing overseas. Or coming from Montana on horseback.
  18. Jealous of every, single, one of you! I'm sorry I can't make it to GCF this year, but I sincerely wish a great deal of success to the GCF Minnesota Crew, all the vendors, and to the die-hard geocoin collectors from all over the world that will be making the trek to the land of 10,000 lakes! Y'all have a blast!!!
  19. Hey there! I thought the name sounded familiar. Went back through my chaotic mess of e-mail accounts and found your messages. I've replied to your gmail account...finally! Let me know if I can help.
  20. Done! I gave the OP plenty of time to resolve the issue and the respoose aprears to be sell them on eBay. I'll be contacting them to let eBay know that these are unlicensed product and hoep they shut the list and or user who is selling them. Unfortunately, the OP's coins are apparently not sanctioned by the BSA and it will be interesting to see how long it takes eBay to cancel those listings. If you do a search on eBay for Boy Scouts geocoin, you will find another BSA 100th Anniversary geocoin sponsored by Utah National Parks Council. This one does have the correct usage of the BSA logo with registration marks and appears to be an officially sanctioned product (though I have no way of knowing and am not the seller of the coin). I mention this only as a reference. Ethically, we have a moral obligation not to purchase unsanctioned, unlicensed "bootlegged" product. But some may see it as a chance to obtain a potentially rare collectible. BSA will certainly pursue legal action against the seller and manufacturer and force the destruction of all existing stock. Frankly, at these prices, I rather spend my money on one of Tsun's beauties... I am the seller of the Authentic BSA coins mention in your thread. They are the real McCoy and come in Ant Bronze or Copper. I saw the knock offs you refer to. I ask the communmity this, Why stop at the BSA coins. If you look around there are several copyright infringments going on. From disney to pro sports. Who's watching those? This is exactly why I decided to come up with my own branded designs, copyrighted and trademarked, (not the BSA coins). Not that it will stop knock offs but at least i can do something about it. I know I'm the newbie in this area and not as aware of what is going on as you senior members are but I am trying to do this correctly. So who do you blame for the knock offs? The mint for making them? The designer for designing them? The seller for selling them? Or all 3? Yes Mike, I am profiting from the sale of the BSA coins but so is the BSA. Like all business's I need to turn a profit to stay in business and I enjoy promoting a worthwhile organization like the BSA. I was a boy scout myself. I agree with everyone that unlicensed products should not be bought by us, collectable or not. Phish_bonz - the new phish in the water! What he said. Rules are rules, and trademarks are trademarks. A person, organization or company that legally holds the intellectual property rights to a copyrighted or trademarked name, logo or character solely holds the rights to benefit from that subject matter. That's the real world, folks. Just because you feel strongly about a subject, or have a direct affiliation with it, does not mean you can go ahead and create and/or sell a product that "borrows" that subject matter. For the most part, geocoin creators have stayed under the radar with respect to these problems, and I'd like to see it stay that way. This is for the benefit of all of us here, and geocoin enthusiasts everywhere. This is not only a cautionary tale for would-be designers. Coin companies should also be maintaining responsibility when presented ideas that feature questionable material. Like Phish said, there are geocoins and tokens frequently sold on eBay that incorporate trademarked cartoon characters, brand logos, etc...and somebody is making them. Sending the client an e-mail disclaimer saying "we are not responsible for copyrighted artwork" is the equivalent of burying your head in the sand. Be responsible. Be original. And support those who are.
  21. Nice touch on the engine intake. Looks cool! Any significance to 9:51, other than the hands being at the standard "happy" position? BTW, if it was a minute earlier, you'd have 10 to 10 on the 10th! Bah, so much for my pinpoint analysis. Just noticed that I had the hands reversed! So it's actually 1:51. A little early for tea time, so there goes another theory.
  22. Here's the Travel Slug at CoinsAndPins.com. They are trackable at geocaching.com, so like Blue Deuce said, it seems like it's a matter of replacing a similar letter or number. At the worst case, you could check the cachers that found that cache after you and see what TB's have gone through their inventories.
  23. Looks excellent, Kim. Very nice!
  24. I root through Tsun's garbage and take pictures of the scrape patterns left at the bottom of her Nutella jars. Then I use Photoshop, three ounces of cream cheese, a whoopie cushion, and dryer lint from a Snuggie®.
