  1. Hello all, and happy December! I have a couple of announcements regarding The {PINK YIME} Project... First of all, the Pink Yimes are here!!! They arrived today, and they look wonderful. I've managed to hire an elite wing of Santa's elves (the Kandy Infused Distribution Squadron) to help me package up the coins and send them off. I hope the cost doesn't get out of control. Secondly, invoices for reservations placed will be going out during the next few days. As mentioned on the reservation page, reservations were placed on your honor, so I humbly ask that you take care of those invoices so that I can make the donation process as efficient as possible. Thank you! And finally, I'm proud to announce that the charity I've decided to work with is The National Breast Cancer Coalition! There were some excellent suggestions, and a myriad of choices as to where to donate the proceeds from this project. But I can't begin to tell you how impressed (and downright fascinated) I am by the NBCC's bold and aggressive aspiration to set a deadline for the complete eradication of breast cancer within ten years. We'll never get it done until we make the elimination of breast cancer an accountable priority for researchers and government officials alike. I encourage everyone concerned to follow this link to the NBCC's main page and watch the inspirational intro. I also encourage you to review the NBCC's excellent Charity Rating at charitynavigator.org. Once again, thank you all for your support and enthusiasm for The {PINK YIME} Project. I'm very proud to help show off the extreme generosity of our community of geocachers and geocoiners! Sincerely, Yime
  2. Many of you may have received an e-mail already on this update, but the Pink Yime geocoins are scheduled to ship from the mint in late November. If you placed a reservation, you should see an invoice sometime around then. The coins will be processed (meaning me putting in all the custom inserts and pouchin' 'em ) and shipped out the first week of December! For those of you that missed the reservations, there may be some extras available, but not many. Also, I've made contact with a charity that I really think sums up what I was looking for regarding prevention. When I have the information I'm looking for, I'll post that here as well. Thanks! Yime
  3. UPDATE: The Pink Yimes are currently in production. If you placed a reservation, you will receive an invoice once the coins are in hand. Thanks! Yime
  4. Reservations are now closed. Thank you to everyone for your orders! Got some work to do now, so I'll keep you up to speed when these are available.
  5. I'm not at the home computer tonight, so I just took down the webpage before I left. I'll be placing the order tomorrow, so you could still send me a note through the pink contact button for a few more hours.
  6. Reservations for the {PINK YIMES} for Prevention will end tomorrow, so if you'd like to place (or increase) your reservation, please do so very soon. I will be placing the remint order sometime over the weekend, and that'll be that. Here's the link!------>{PINK YIMES} at YemonYime.com For those of you who are following the YemonYime Design facebook page, then you might already know about the special bonus I'm offering with these reservations! I've invoked a childhood favorite of mine in Willy Wonka, and will be placing two GOLDEN TICKETS behind the custom flip art inserts inside the sleeves of the Pink Yime Geocoins. These will then be placed in the pink pouches and shuffled up by the young yimes as I prepare to fill orders. They'll go out at random, and might even end up in the hands of someone who doesn't realize what they've got! The lucky recipients of these GOLDEN TICKETS will win an exclusive 2010 Compass Rose Geocoin® YemonYime Variant, of which only 42 will be made! Again, this offer is only going through the reservations for this remint. Thanks again for your continued support of these special geocoins! Yime
  7. Yes, and it's FANTASTIC! I'll fill everyone in on the details of your work soon. You guys are gonna love this!
  8. Me too Me too. Yes, the 2010 Compass Rose Geocoin is underway.
  9. I really like this coin! This design serves to remind me why I love the older geocoins so much. It's a simple, two-color antiqued coin that's sharp as a shovel. Could you please tell us the size (diameter) of the coin, and if it will perhaps be available in any other metal finish? Again, excellent work.
  10. Reservations have been extended until Friday, October 29th For more details, click on the image above, or visit The {PINK YIME} Project. Thank you for your support!
  11. Commence alternate transmission_ Submission complete_ Awaiting orders_
  12. I have placed my reservation quite a few days ago, but I haven't received an invoice yet. Is there something I'm missing, or did my reservation not go through? Nope, you're not missing anything. The invoices mentioned earlier were for the first set of these that were in hand at the time. Your reservation is in for the remint, and will help me determine how many coins to order. I will send out the invoices when the coins are in hand.
  13. Heading out the door right now, and I can't find the picture link. But I think if you google "red yime", there was actually a worthpoint.com review on it with pictures.
  14. Yes, got your email, and this is going to be an awesome item to go towards the cause. Jay has graciously donated his time and materials to create a wire wrap for a Pink Yime. When it arrives I'll post pics and start an auction with all proceeds going to the same cause. Thanks so much for doing this, I can't wait to see it!
  15. Another batch of Pink Yimes went out in the mail yesterday (Friday). So for anyone who has paid their invoice, your coins have shipped!
  16. The rare and mysterious Yime Tree has been known to produce many variations of citrus. But some of the more diverse species of fruit it produces can be found in the upper latitudes. These are just some examples of recent discoveries. The Gamma Ray Yime (Citrus Radius, V3.0) is an unstable, state-protected citrus with radioactive properties that has been the focus of much debate amongst the scientific community. Some believe it's hazardous to humans, but others believe its thermonuclear juices can be used as an enjoyable apertif, or anti-freeze alternative. TH3 R3D YIM3 (Citrus Revoltus, V3.1) is an enigmatic and rare fruit indeed. It is rumored that in the early 90's, spray-painted images of Red Yimes were often found among the rubble of the recently demolished Berlin Wall. Some say its mere presence in a fruit cup can motivate the family to get out and do yardwork, or even take on the neighbors in a game of tackle football. {PINK YIMES} (Citrus Preventus, V3.2 and V3.2.1) are a lighter-shade variation to The Red Yime, and also used as a source of motivation. Specifically, to generate awareness and donations towards the prevention of breast cancer. Keep in mind, that I had to consult my local citrusologist to find the proper scientific classifications.
  17. ditto on this question I was looking at my coin yesterday and noticed that that on the back the "Yime" lettering on the left side is under pink translucent, but the "Yemon" lettering on the right side is color filled solid pink (You can't see the lettering). If you look at a normal v3 they are both under translucent fill. That what I'd assume will be corrected in the next minting. That's pretty much correct...well, except that the side you're referring to is the front. The darker "cranberry" enamel on the right front was to be an opaque PMS 227, much like the light pink PMS 217 is on the left. Afterall, the coin's about breast cancer...so more pink, less yime. But, as you can see, the mint managed to create a brand new translucent color...just for YOU!!! I can't tell ya how many times I've had stuff come back from the mint with an unexpected twist. (Like the first batch of my V1 personals that glowed blue instead of yellow) I've just come expect the unexpected from them. So yes, that is the only planned change to the "V3.2" coin...which I suppose would now be "V3.2.1".
  18. Got your e-mail. Absolutely. I'll be posting the donation amount on my website after everything is tallied, and the "pink" has left the building. I'm hoping to raise a very nice amount to send towards a good cause.
  19. Yes, the limit is up to eight. The reason for the first limit was mainly to allow more people to get their hands on these directly, but also to deter resellers from hording them and putting them on eBay for bigger profits. With this re-mint though, I'm not as concerned with that happening. However, there may still be some higher volume "business-oriented" resellers that will list these on eBay and make a good buck because their clientele might not be aware of the re-mint. I'm hoping that through your peer pressure, these bigger resellers will take up my challenge and donate a portion of what they make on any Pink Yimes sold on eBay.
  20. Announcing the re-mint of {PINK YIMES} Reservations are now open! After many requests, and a few dozen misdirected e-mails, reservations are now open for the re-mint of {PINK YIME} Geocoins. Click on the image above, or visit YemonYime.com. The Pink Yime Geocoins are trackable on geocaching.com, and will carry this unique custom icon: Reservations for the re-mint will be taken through Monday, October 25th, and are taken on your honor, as the final re-mint quantities will be based on these reservations. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, a sizable donation will be made toward the charity I feel does the most good towards the prevention of breast cancer. The Pink Yime Geocoins will come with a pin and pouch as before, but a slight change to the enamel is planned. For more details on reservations, please visit the {PINK YIME} Project. Thank you for your support!
  21. Nah, the misfit folder has been deactivated by turning off "Spam Guard". Pretty busy weekend here as always, but I will send out the few remaining invoices for coins on hand as soon as possible. Plans for the re-mint are coming along. There may be a very slight change to one enamel, as the mint didn't follow through with a previous instruction. I'll make an announcement on Monday as to how to place a reservation for the re-mint. Again, I ask...please DO NOT send requests through my GC profile regarding these coins, because e-mails end up going every which way and I can't organize them properly. Thanks everyone, for your support. I have read some of your personal experiences, and also heard from some local people sharing the things they've gone through in dealing with breast cancer. The more information I gather, the better informed I'm becoming as to where the various charities invest their donations, and just how much is used towards real action. So, in the meantime, please continue to share your stories, and make your suggestions as to where a donation might get the most bang for the buck.
  22. Quick update for everyone. About 95% of the paid orders have shipped. Got a few payments after I got home from the Post Office today, so I'll package those up and send them off tomorrow. For those of you who ended up in "The Folder of Misfit Emails", and were among the earliest to send a message to the pinkyimes address, I will be in contact soon. The Pink Yime packages with pouches and pins are pretty much gone, but I still have some singles remaining. For anyone who sent in a reservation after they were gone, or to another email address, I'll also be in contact when I can organize the list. Thanks!
  23. Well folks, I have some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the bad news. After receiving an email from a very nice guy inquiring about an invoice, I started looking back through the "pinkyimes@yahoo.com" inbox and just couldn't find any sign of a previous request from him. Then I heard a little squeaking noise coming from the left sidebar. So I leaned in, looked a little closer, and discovered... The Folder Of Misfit E-Mails!!! Yes Virginia, there is a Spam-O-Claus, and he's a little folder with a dozen emails unfairly diverted into it by cutting edge Yahoo "anti-inconvenience" technology. Did I mention having a little trouble with PayPal's technology earlier today? Not the best tech day I've had... So, yeah...there's a dozen of you whose emails got bullied aside by no fault of your own. Upon closer inspection, there would have only been one or two to make "the cut" anyway, but this leads me now to the good news... Re-mint. Let's do it. But please, no "I'll take two" reservations here just yet, mKay? Gotta work out the details first, and then we'll go from there.
