  1. Verizon "locks" the GPSr on many of their Blackberrys. You can still use something like Cacheberry but it will require a separate GPSr. Currently both the Blackberry Tour and Storm have unlocked GPSrs on Verizon and could be used as complete paperless geocaching devices. I've heard that phones are not the best GPSrs but I don't have enough experience to comment on that. The Storm 2 is rumored to be released in October and is a big improvement over the current version.
  2. Relative to what? All caches are moving. I'm just giving you a hard time.
  3. 33% I have 9 finds and 3 DNF's. Two of the DNF's I actually spent time searching for and one I never got out of the car because the area was too "hot". I suspect my ratio will improve with time. I have no qualms about filing a DNF.
  4. Ah, my first find. I remember it well, especially since it was only a month ago. I hope to get better at logging as I get better at caching.
  5. I'm very much a newbie to this and I just DNF'ed a 1/1 yesterday. I had some extra time before a meeting and there was a cache in the area. I thought I had a pretty good idea where the thing was. I drove right up to where it should be and couldn't find it. I was highly frustrated over the whole thing. I spent the first half hour of the meeting thinking about it. Now I think about when I can get back to that area and try again. I'm assuming this is pretty common with people that are new to this game. It takes practice just like anything else. Hopefully some of these tips will help flatten out the learning curve a little.
  6. Ktulu... from Metallica's "The Call of Ktulu" and H.P. Lovecraft’s "The Call of Cthulhu" among others. I'm a fan of both and started using it on bulletin boards systems sometime in the late 80's.
