  1. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again on Saturday. AND I've convinced Geeba and MAP to come along this time! - Rent
  2. Lately I've been sorely tempted to take the bulk of my caches to members only status. Geeze... the amount of TRASH that is being left in caches is disheartening. I think that the average member tends to avoid geotrashing. That's my reasoning anyway. - Rent

  5. August 3rd is going to be tight, but I think I can make it. I have a computer workshop (MacNexus) in the morning and I usually teach a class at noon, but if the picnic is in the afternoon, I'll be there when I can get there. - Rent

  7. I've never seen any trouble with larger animals, but have come across caches whose containers were filled with... COCKROACHES. IMHO putting food in a cache is a bad idea. - Rent

  9. Dang... this sounds like fun, but MAP and I are headed for caching in Mendocino today so I'll miss the first round. I expect all the cards will be gone by the end of the weekend. [This message was edited by Rent on June 21, 2002 at 02:29 PM.]

  11. Since neither one of them checks here, I forwarded your message via email to MAP and Geeba. I'm sure that you'll be hearing from both of them.

  13. MAP and I went out to the Penryn, Newcastle, Auburn area today to do four caches. If you haven't tried Mother Lode Overlook you should seriously get out there. It's a FUN multistager which uses a bit of orienteering. [This message was edited by Rent on June 21, 2002 at 02:28 PM.]

  15. The old topic was taking forever to load, and that was just page 1. Let's stop the insanity and start fresh... [This message was edited by Rent on June 21, 2002 at 02:28 PM.]

  17. The forums do seem a bit quiet, but personally speaking, my interest hasn't wained. I just have to find the time! What with business, federal disaster team, teaching computer classes, having company over... whew... I just need to get out and do some serious caching. Lately its been a lot of cache maintenance and replacement. The Llamas keep disappearing! Ah well... maybe this weekend!

  19. My micro cache has been placed in Costa Mesa. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=21963 Have fun!

  21. Yeah, I don't know if MAP and I will even be able to attend a picnic, much less help put it on. We're heavily involved in the federal DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) program right now, among other projects. Normally, I would leap right in without looking, but early summer is looking pretty tight. Dang! I want to PLAY!

  23. Okay, I got busy and my microcache is ready to go. It'll be called Fairly Tiny Cache and will be in Costa Mesa somewhere on or near the Orange County Fairgrounds (probably near... so that people can get to it when the fair is closed). I'll put it out sometime between tomorrow and Sunday, but won't be back to log it till Tuesday or so.

  25. Microcaches can be fun if they are done right. The most clever I have encountered have been recycled/repainted Altoid mint boxes. People have put magnets or velcro on them and stuck them under or behind prominent spots. An Altoid box is just big enough for a small logbook... not much else, but I'm basically just there to sign the log. I'll be in Orange County tomorrow through Sunday, but I don't suppose you'll have anything set up by then... Maybe I should rustle up a box of my own...
