  1. Hasn't happened to me while caching - but actually while I was hiking. About 2-3 miles into the trail, I came up on 3 girls...yeah...I kept on hiking and finished the trail. When I came back they were gone. They were really "enjoying the outdoors"
  2. I have the same problem. When I look on the list of nearest POI's - it will say on the list, for example that it's 14 miles NW - But when you click on it, it will say that it's actually about 30 miles NW. Would that be that on the list - it's coordinating how far it is from your current location then when you open it up, it shows how far it is from your Home location or vice versa? It kind of confused me. My StreetPilot did it too. Also, when I pull up the list of nearest Police Stations (for example) it doesn't even show our town's PD. Weird. Maybe we're too small. I have a Garmin Nuvi 205. They really need to get into overhauling those POI's or else we're going to see something happen like the Nationwide Insurance commerical where the guy crashes into a building!
  3. I've tried using Bing for stuff like this - I checked it out and it's really (obviously) the same map format as Windows Live Maps. While I did find it prettier and crisper than Google Maps, it lacks the same functionality and ease of use. I was just about to say that I would have thought that 'Bing' comes from the sound. haha. It does seem like they were trying to mimic Google a bit doesn't it?
  4. Haha! I love your YouTube videos, I've watched a lot of them! Awesome to see you on the forums! And thank you everyone for welcoming me. I've been geocaching with friends/colleagues since 2004 but never really forayed into it myself. I never really had the time to go out by myself and tackle some GC's. My wife thinks I'm strange but, being a former Geography major in college - she's used to my weird tendencies to spout Geography lingo and my obsessions with maps and GPS units. But hopefully I can get her into the game so we can go together when the time permits. Thank you everyone! I look forward to posting more, getting to know some ppl, and hopefully becoming a Premium Member. haha.
  5. I am from West Virginia and a big fan of WVU. Plus I am always outdoors - so I guess you would call me a "Mountaineer" hehe
  6. Hey all! I'm new here. Have been geocaching with friends but never really had the time to go out and do it frequently. Glad to be here! Just introducing myself!
