  1. I geocache with a nuvi and have no complaints other than that you must gold it while walking around and there is no internal compass (which you don't need and of you want one them you can just bring it along). Google nuvi paperless geocaching and there is an awesome website on how to use your nuvi.
  2. See my other post I just barely did about nuvi geocaching. Google nuvi paperless geocaching and there is an excellent website on how to use it. I geocache with a 255w and I use offroad mode to get close (using north up instead of 3d) and then when I am close I go to the menu screen and hold down on the signal strength meter for a few seconds until it shows the coordinates of where I am. Thenits just a matter of moving around a lttle bit until I'm right on top of the geocache!
  3. Google nuvi paperless geocaching and there is an excellent webpage on using a nuvi for geocaching (it's pilotsnipes or something in the URL). Basically, I use the offroad mode and set it to north up (not 3d). Then when I get close I use the where am I function (or I can hold my finger on the signal strength icon for a few seconds) and look at the actual coordinates of where I am and move around until I'm rght on top of it.
  4. On podcacher (podcast about geocaching) I believe they mentioned that the longest streak is something like 5 or 6 years (since 2003 or something). Insane!
  5. Sometimes I won't be able to find a cache and I'm never sure if I should log a DNF right away or only after trying a few times. I'm hesitant about logging a DNF right away because I don't want to discourage other geocachers from thinking the cache may have been muggled or something when it might just be that I wasn't looking in the right spot. When do you log a DNF? Right away? Only after trying again?
