  1. Anyone else heading from the South King County (Auburn/Federal Way) area? I'm bringing my dad along, but we'll have room for a couple more in the car. Or we'd be happy to fill up the back seat of your car...either way.
  2. I got two old Palms from a guy on eBay for $20 combined (an M100 and an M105). I downloaded the latest Palm Desktop from http://www.palmone.com/us/support/, installed it on my WindowsXP computer, and everything works great! I also installed Cachemate, which was well worth the $8 registration fee. I use an iPaq PocketPC for everything else, but after dropping one while caching (a $400 mistake) I went for the old Palm. It works just great!!
  3. We pulled an unbelievable amount of junk out of a steep ravine at Millcreek Earthworks Park in Kent, WA. The final count was 3 sofas, 1 fridge door, 3 shopping carts, a TV, 2 mattresses, 3 car bumpers, 13 car tires, 2 truck tires, 45 phone books (which sure are heavy when they are soaking wet!), and countless wrappers, bottles and cans. We filled over 30 large garbage bags. There were 16 of us, I think, and we spent about 3 hours there. We all went to lunch afterwards...it was a fun day!
  4. Hi...what 2 numbers are left? Thanks!
  5. I'm heading back to Iowa for yet another RAGBRAI (I've been going as often as I can since RAGBRAI VIII) but this will be my first year heading that direction (from Seattle) as a geocacher. We have a support driver accompanying us that's a geo-fanatic, too, so we'll keep watching the IGO page (as soon as I find out where that is) to see if there are some caches that can keep him entertained while we bike. If there are some that are close enough to the route for a rider to find, too...even better!
  6. We just got back from Barbados a couple of weeks ago and did a little caching there. Our Magellan Meridian Gold worked great without having to make any changes. The only bummer is that we didn't have any detailed maps, just the country's overview (the major cities and maybe a road or two). We relied on cabs to get us where we needed to go and that made it relatively easy. We noticed that when we looked at the Groundspeak maps, it showed the caches in weird spots (like off in the ocean). It was like all the caches were about an inch up and to the right of where they should have been placed. Fortunately the Magellan showed them in the correct spots on the screen. Of the 5 islands we recently visited, we liked Barbados the best. It was a beautiful, super-friendly place. Enjoy!
  7. Actually, I find most custom backgrounds annoying and distracting. They are often way too "busy" for my taste. So I'm glad to see less space on the page devoted to them.
  8. Here ya go... http://www.sissy-n-cr.com/store2.shtml
  9. It was intended to be loosely based on the front end of my Jeep...the grill and headlights. Obviously it's verrrrry loosely based!
  10. Aw bummer...no joy in coinville. Maybe mine will make the long trek from Puyallup to Auburn next week...
