  1. I will glady take on Surrey as not far from me. Jon
  2. I can't log into geocacheuk or trigpointing for a few days now
  3. Not happened to my Garmin yet, although I'd be interested to know the solution as I have seen a couple of GPSr's now with this problem. In fact the rubber surround appears to enlarge itself so even if stuck down again I'd imagine it's too big? Jon
  4. Is there some issue with having Google ads on cache pages then? Jon
  5. I could do Berkshire if no other familiar names bag it?
  6. I agree with niffir. Log a cache as a DNF if you think you had a fair search in the area and were unable to locate it. This gives valuable feedback to the cache owner. Some cachers don't/won't log DNF's, (for whatever reason) although it's obvious from their other near-vicinity finds for the day, that the cache would have been on their hit list! Jon
  7. I have had similar experiences at one of my caches (Elimination by numbers)... I always have trouble finding it when doing maintenance visits! Maybe we just hide our caches too well? Jon
  8. Looks like a pair of cuff-links I owned in the 70's Sheesh 2 bids too!
  9. I can think of many caches that could easily have supported a full size box. However a micro is cheap, easy to hide and easy to replace. They are usually more challenging to find, whether in an urban or rural setting. Micros in forests are a pain and micros in busy urban areas are a pain. Yet I'd rather have them to find than nothing at all Jon
  10. In my capacity as a Custom broker: HM Revenue and Customs (as they are now known) will not collect revenue less than GBP 10.00. Excise duty is not applicable (this is for products containing alcohol)As ZoomLens says... For something like this the duty/VAT would not be an issue. Jon
  11. Twice for me... here's the other one that frightened the life out of me TOP SPOT
  12. I did this cache a few months ago... alone. Now must admit I didn't, as frequently I don't, read all the cache page/instructions thoroughly enough It was only when logging my find I realised the recommendation about not doing this alone. Nobody knew where I was, I doubt if the mobile would have worked at the bottom and I had no light. When descending my heart jumped when I heard he wind blowing above... if that hatch slammed closed I could have in there for days... or more So yes, I'd think this is definitely a pair/team cache. BTW, my thanks to thehoomer for keeping this cache alive Jon
  13. Should that not be lurrrve in th room
  14. I use Firefox and my map defaults to multimap. I wish I could change this to streetmap. Any scripts anyone? Jon
  15. I charge but don't let it put you off Oh gawd what have I said?
  16. Nahhh... lose it, scare the pants of everyone, and you will get what you want... oops sorry, wrong thread/forum/BB
  17. It's FAN isn't it???? It's quite humid today and my two are working overtime
  18. Crikey there's more to this mapping lark than I ever thought possible. How do you know so much about this stuff? I always thought OS maps were definitive? Jon
  19. Fat chance Even if you attach a big big mission statement to the bug I'd give it hmmm... 5 finds maybe. An interesting exercise. Any other bets? Jon
  20. I have a cache at which I can get a good GPSr reading - down to 9' or so. I have taken quite a few 'average' readings, and yet googlemaps shows my coords about 20' away. I suppose that's nothing really. At least googlemaps is more accurate than streetmap, at least as far as rivers and streams are concerned! Jon
  21. LMAO! So now everybody is happy, Yay
  22. I forgot to congratulate Kewfriend on his 500th cache. Very well done Ian oh... and here's a handy link for you mate Jon
  23. Good point. Is it (20) or (23) for your 500th Ian?... this is getting confusing Jon
