Haha John... some dizzy peeps go out of their way to post SBA logs; I mean really going out of their area to purposly seek them out!
They go out of their way to seek temporary archived caches, and bring them to the reviewers attention.
Sad thing is they don't realize their actions are confrontational, and are being seen by the rest of us as caching police.
OMG what am I doing? I promise I'm out of here...

Let me put it another way then... an 18 mile multi? I don't think so :-))
Let those who want to do series caches do them... there's no need to play devil's advocate and to be contrary.
See you in this dark place again... one day ;-)

Really enjoyable series, and in my opinion is exactly what people want... a long walk in the countryside without having to move the car.
As for 'in the old days this would have been a multi'... what utter garbage! Show me 61 wp multi! hahaha keep taking the medicine.

Just come through. Thanks Mrs.B

My 3 day old PQ just arrived. Thanks

I haven't been able to run a 'My Finds' query for three days either. Is GC aware of a problem please?

Hi,
Just seen this thread.
I have had this enormous 'lag' in memory map a couple of times now (usually after a full PC reinstall).
The problem lay in my Memory Map registration details ;-)
PM me if you like.

I have gone through three periods of Geocaching disinterest. My last lasted almost three months... but it appears I am addicted and have started again.
Can I get professional help?
-
If this is the case and it is purley a maintanace issue, other than something else. could we all not do something about it.
Peter, this sounds like a sensible offer
Whilst I don't know for sure why The Lord intends to archive his rings... I think that suggestions of this kind can only reinforce our request to keep these caches live. Consider that he has around 280 live caches to maintain... I have 130 of my own and believe me that's enough to cope with!
Maybe offers of adoption may be the way to go? Not necessarily for the whole of each ring, but for segments of each?
If we really want these kept live then I think we have to work at it!

sounds like blackmail incentive to me

I'm sure LOTC can be persuaded to keep the series on for a while longer
Maybe a good turnout at his forthcoming event will help make him reconsider?

Having now installed MMSirf and got it working, we can now go caching at a more leisurely pace. All that rushing around was making me feel quite ill. I knew with every ones help that I would get there in the end.
Thanks
Terry
Yay... good news

But don't forget (as someone has said) when you stop moving the arrow will disappear because it uses the GPS satellite to navigate not an electronic compass.
Or takes on a mind of it's own

Terry,
have a look at this thread on the SE forums... there is a direct link to the download. It's straightforward to install and set up.

I have had this problem before.
Are you running MMSirf? If so try disabling it and re-enabling. That sorts it for me.
Good luck.

Just copy and paste the grid from any cache page onto a credit card sized piece of paper, laminate it and keep it with your other caching gear - sorted
Neets I'm a bloke. I like beer, women and gadgets!
pm sentGot it. Thanks Mark
Now running for cover...

Hi John,
Try Options, Preferences - then check "Decode hints by default" - job done
Sorry think I misunderstood. I know about the cache page ROT13 decrypt... I use it all the time!
A few weeks ago I arrived at a stage of a multi and the hint for the next stage was in ROT13.
I am after a free-type decoder.
-
I use cachemate it does it for you
I use Cachemate but never seen a ROT13 decoder. Have I missed something?
-
Does it have a built-in microfilter?
-
Just ensure it's plainly obvious on the cache page... like really OBVIOUS!
Then I can't see you will have any cause to either delete a log or email the finder.
Good luck!

Ditto to both of parkmoy's comments
Leaving this dark place until a brighter day.

I think a brief explanation as to why any thread is closed is not asking too much is it?
-
I don't understand why the topic was closed. I didn't see it causing a row?
