  1. That's where I'll just log a "Note" for the cache, with a "Did not look" somewhere in there, with the reason involved. If it's a muggle problem at certain hours, I'll note that. If it's a blocked road, mountains of snow at the end of a parking lot -- whatever. In the latter case, it lets fellow cachers know not to bother unless they've got a front-loader ... or wait until the snow melts for a week or two. What is there about the simple declarative sentence "I visited the cache and did not find it" that you don't understand? The posting of a note makes no logical sense to me. You either found it or you didn't find it. Those are the two mutually exclusive options that logically cover all cache visits, in my opinion. I am a logic designer so I may be being too literal, but a note saying "I didn't find it" boggles my mind. I have posted a note for a DNF. Only because in the past I had found. There was question on rather the cache was still there or not. The owner didn't seem to notice or didn't have time to go and check. Since it was close to my house I went out and checked. It was gone so I posted a note with a DNF
  2. I"m guessing different things work for different people. My son is very alergic to poison ivy and oak. Washing right away doesn't take it away for him. But washing with FELS NAPTHA will help dry it out along with steriod shots.
  3. Unless I"m doing it wrong. You can only be notified of one kind of cache. Most people probably don't have there's set for puzzles.
  4. Which Tom Tom do you have. I have the Tom Tom one. Is that something I can do on mine?
  5. This is what I use. It's just like an idiot guide. Even I was able to figure it out and I've never used a Palm before. While on the subject of palm. Can anyone tell me how long the battery life is?
  6. Might be able to find a for parts only one for sale on E-bay.
  7. Currently I'm waiting for my Vista to be delivered. I'm hoping it's much better. I'm using a old E-trex. Tonight I went caching and under a few trees in miserable. 100 feet > no 60 feet< no 75 feet ^. I can't wait to get the new one and go back and try all my DNFs out.
  8. Okay I guess I just keep pulling it off and hope for the best
  9. Did it just slide off? Or was it a little tuff to pull off?
  10. The manual does say to tilt palm forward gently and pull off. It's just that it still seems really tuff to pull the unit of the cradle. I don't want to break anything.
  11. I just purchased a used Palm for the same purpose. This is what I found to work the best so far. http://www.geocacher-u.com/resources/paperless.html Not really sure it's the best. Just the one I found to walk me through the process step by step. That's what I liked the best about it.
  12. Okay this is probably silly question, but figured someone here would know the answer. I purchased a used palm M505. I didn't receive the owners manual. I downloaded the owners manual and it did not reference how to remove the unit from the cradle. When I pull the unit off you have to pull pretty hard. I'm nervous about breaking the little plastic tabs off while pulling it off. Is there a easy or better way to remove the unit from the cradle?
  13. Agree with Mtn-man as long as there all family friendly they would be wonderful to bad they will probably never make it to MI. And I'll never make it to VA.
  14. A little off topic, but are a lot of members of geo also member of that waypoint site?
  15. Not saying this is the case, but some people figure just because there not using it. It's mine. My mom has railroad property adjoining her land. They don't use it. Don't mean it's hers.
  16. Kinda a little off topic but I thought I would squeeze it in here. I have a new Vista HCX coming. So I don't want to update to the current version? Oh so confusing. Maybe I should have stuck with the 10 yr old etrex that I never updated.
  17. If I leave a sig item in a cache is it okay to take 1 of someone else's or is that meant to be left for the cache owner?
  18. Same phone # also. They should take paypal payment then.
  19. OMG........ I tried it and it worked exactly like I wanted. I know most people like to have the large amount of caches. I am happy to the dozen or less to shuffle through. Thank you so very much.
  20. I'm actually trying to put the items on a Palm not a GPS. I'm using GPXspinner and Plunker. Guess I should have explained all of this a little better. So I can create a boomark and only send those items to the Palm?
  21. I am new to being a preium member. Tried running a pocket query and got overwelmed. Is there a way that I can just load a few cache's of my choice in a pocket query? Example can I pic 10 and load just them?
  22. Glad I'm not the only one who had those thoughts.
