I just don't buy this one. AFAIK batteries are actually *preserved* in the cold. They don't work well until they warm up, but the cold doesn't hurt them. As far as heat goes, my GPS has been baked in my car, and the batteries too. No harm seemed to have occured. But I will now correct myself , from the Duracell site: Still doesn't say they will asplode. [Edit: "I will now..." instead of "I will not..."] i've had a few batteries enlarge, burst the case and leak everywheres..... but I guess if duracell says it's okay(should have researched, I guess). but I digress, they're probly ok. sorry for the misinformation..... *hangs head in shame*

just a quick note on a small number of items on that list. Small US flags, US flag pins - or other countrys flags, lets not limit it to just the USA, there's cachers in other countrys as well packs of AA and AAA batteries - they can go bad/explode/leak if it gets too cold or hot music CD's, cassettes (blank and recorded), movies on VHS & DVD, software - make sure they are not pirated copies, to protect copyrights travel packs of Wet Ones or Baby Wipes, small travel bottles of hand sanitize, lighters, small travel bottles of Lubriderm hand cream, packets of insect repellent wipes or small spray bottles of Repel - these items can give off scent, which can attract animals just as well as food items use your judgement, if its in the woods and likely to be carried off by an animal, don't put ANY smelly items in it. other than that, go nuts, be original and safe. if it's something you'd like to find, and follows the guidelines, then by all means leave it for someone else. BEO edit to add: just because an item is listed as 'acceptable' does not always mean it should be there, and similarly, just because an item is found in a cache does not always mean it's acceptable.

I don't think this would work very well, is the TB page going to be viewable by members only? no. and it would only take 1 time dropping it off in a non member cache to go into non premium member hands, and then the 'casual cachers' could get a hold of it, and if they don't read the TB mission statement.... CYA besides, there are only a handful of MOC 'round these parts, so it would severly limit where the bug could go. but if that is the mission, to visit only other MOC and you dont care about miles or number of caches visited, go for it! If you don't try it, how will you ever know if it won't work?

there are several types of geeks, lets review the computer geek, which i'm sure all of you know about intimately the music geek, whick is either way too tech about music(ipod+all accessories), or knows way too much about music(memorized billboard charts), or even someone who collects or listens to very obscure bands/songs/rarities the tech geek, who is just into gadgets of every kind and cant live without (check this page, especailly the gps section) I'm sure there are others, and many are comprised of partial or combinations of each.

dude, I'm all for poking fun at people who get worked up about things, I like to provoke such things from time to time... but you need to let it go. Your post was almost to the point of accepting defeat, or at least realizing you got to voice your opinion, but you just cant leave well enough alone. Holman said rules of geocaching require that you put something into the hidden spot, or cache, before you remove something from a secret location. I don't know, but that's pretty confusing. That's not how I cache.....

Multis ROCK, I love a good multi-cache. Look at that sentance carefully... GOOD MULTIS! I say quality over quantity. Make it unique and challenging, but I'd reccomend no more than 10 legs(even 5), that way you could keep it somewhat fresh. To answer your question, I might given the circumstances, and a few days off work, but generally NO. That's too much work, especially if they're all micros!

This could become part of the logging process, TNLNSLTM (Tipped Muggles). Or we could give you 10 extra points for each one you tip!
