  1. If 18 users were watching one of mine I certainly wouldn't archive! I don't see your log on there. I do see a "Caching Fool" found it yesterday. Perhaps a puppet account?
  2. As the cache owner you have a right to do whatever you please with the cache page, BUT... Being dictatorial with one's cache will have certain consequences...
  3. Wait a month and post another found it log as by then all the "kinks" will have been worked out and tensions will have settled a bit. If your found it log is still deleted, time for the ignore list. Just my .02.
  4. Agreed. And I would think most people would. Perhaps the OP could organize a CITO event as mentioned before. I still wouldn't search for it since my PQs filter out anything terrain 1.5 or less, but the hide would certainly be less obtrusive.
  5. I speak for no one but myself. Of course, many of the forum topics on the evolution of geocaching bear my point out as well.
  6. "Some little-used location." Sounds innocent enough doesn't it? The geocachers that have been around since the beginning would answer a resounding, "NO!"
  7. Agreed. I've got 10 of such caches available.
  8. One thing the now "notorious" cachers did was give constructive criticism regarding the terrain rating. I enjoy this type of criticism on my caches since my idea of terrain and those hunting my caches often differ. Edited after reading up on how to use apostrophes.
  9. They can be if you remove that dog tag ziptied to it...
  10. Something like this?: You can buy the gloves at costco in bulk for just a little $$ per glove. The boxes come with 150 gloves each as opposed to 10 at the dollar store. The bags and film cans should cost you zip.
  11. Sounds like a fun cache. Usually 3-star terrain caches scare away the type of people who found it yesterday. Their 1/1 PQ musta malfunctioned.
  12. Why not forego the swag and use that money for gas instead? If you come across something in a cache that you just gotta have, simply trade a TB for it or nothing at all? No wonder I'm looking at restocking most of my caches this year....
  13. I don't think it would be a bad idea. Taking a close look that would describe 90% of the caches in my hometown. We have several film cannister micros that get found frequently. The ones that support TB's are mostly multi or puzzle caches that are rarely found.
  14. Remote? How about Baker County, Oregon. I've got 7 caches that have never been attempted. My 10 most recent hides get found once every 395 days.
  15. Perhaps this is why it has only been found twice in 2 1/2 years? From the map view it only appears to be 2/3 of a mile from hwy 26.
  16. They both are. When you use the zoom it will update the cache location and appear to move.
  17. Being proud of one's cache isn't mandatory in the guidelines. Being excited about a cache is in no way related to quality of the placement. It could simply be excitement about who will be FTF, STF, etc.. I've seen plenty of cache descriptions that say basically what you penned. Of course, not everyone is gifted with flattering descriptions.
  18. I see. You raise a valid point about caches placed on private property with permission from the owner. Since this type of cache DOES exist, then yes, it sounds logical to think that a cache pointing to someone's yard would conceivably be this type. But simply reading the cache description would reveal if it was a cacher's property or something else entirely. In this case words such as "public parking" and "bring your family and your pets" in the cache description would seal the deal.
  19. Ken, This is exactly the kind of thing that will get geocaching banned. Bad news, bro.
  20. What part of private property did they not understand?? Perhaps you need to paint your rental a brighter shade of yellow?
