  1. Is there any way to find all the Geocaches for which I've posted a Personal Cache Note?
  2. Looks like this was a temporary error -- it's working now.
  3. When I try to navigate to the second and subsequent pages of a bookmark list, I get the following error. Anyone else having troubles? Steve Server Error in '/' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Non-negative number required. 4. Although I haven't used it in a while, SpoilerSync has in the past worked well for me. I tried to run it today, and I'm getting 0 spoilers found. I checked the boards and found some posts referring to a new version required to deal with some recent GC.com site upgrades. I loaded the new version (1.0.21) and still get 0 spoilers. Just for grins, I tried it on a different computer, and it worked great the first time, but now it too fails to find any spoilers. I'm not running Norton Internet Security (saw some references to that causing problems), and disabling firewalls and virus protection makes no difference. Anyone else having problems? Any tips? Thanks. Steve
  5. Phew -- it's back up again. I feared another meltdown...
  6. Oh oh... Database connection error! A connection to the Database could not be established. Please check your username, password, database name and host. Also make sure config.php is rightly configured! Anyone else get this?
  7. These are not trackable coins -- they're yours to keep or trade. BTW, the web site is www.idahogeocachers.org. Steve
  8. Yep, they all should have been shipped. If you haven't received yours by now, you may want to email idtimberwolf via his profile and see what's up. Give him a while to respond -- he doesn't yet have DSL at his new place, so he doesn't have ready access to his email.
  9. I just talked to idtimberwolf who managed the ordering and distribution of all the coins, and he tells me that all orders except NurseDave's shipped at the latest on Monday (NurseDave's was an unfortunate oversight). So be patient -- they should be there shortly.
  10. And a reboot did take care of it. Very strange, that's never happened before -- it's usually all or none. Thanks, RK!
  11. Seriously, RK, you can get on right now? I've been unable to get on since around 5:00 PM...
  12. Oh oh. Any one else having trouble accessing the site?
  13. I called Garmin today and was told that about 3 months ago both the basic eTrex and Summit were rolled to include new HW and FW that supports new features including WAAS. The FW upgrade will not be applicable to the old units. The agent was evasive and would not discuss when the web site would be updated to reflect the new features / firmware. I think Garmin realizes they'll have an inventory problem on their hands if people figure out that a new version is available, so they'll wait until the old version is flushed through the system before publicizing the new features. Seems like a silly strategy in retrospect -- why not introduce them as new models and benefit from the publicity? As it stands, they've just added 1 minute to each support phone call as the agent instructs the customer hiow to identify which version they have. Unfortunately I didn't see my friend's box so I don't know if the version change is apparant form the packaging -- any one else know?
  14. With my iPAQ h4155, I use ExpertGPS, GPXSonar, and Streets & Trips. With this combination and Pocket Queries I can: On the PC: 1) Sort caches by name, bearing, and distance from any point, search on any text in the cache description, link to the cache page on GC.com, and upload coordinates to my GPS in ExpertGPS. 2) View the location of caches on a topo map or aerial photo, w/ waypoint, name, difficulty, and type, and click through to the cache page on GC.com in one click in ExpertGPS. 3) View the location of caches on a street map w/ waypoint, description, difficulty, and type, and click through to the cache page on GC.com in one click in Streets & Trips. On my iPAQ: 1) Carry multiple (limited only by memory) pocket queries with me at any time. 2) Sort caches by name, bearing, and distance from any point, search on any text in the cache description, view a subset of the cache page (including last 5 logs and hint, log field notes, and create Pocket Streets & Trips pushpin files in GPXSonar. 3) View the location of caches on a street map w/ waypoint, name, difficulty, and type on a Pocket Streets & Trips map. The only thing missing is the ability to upload coordinates from my iPAQ to the PPC as can be done with Cachemate -- then I could go on roadtrips without a laptop. I'm hoping for that functionality in the next release.
  15. It also has 20 routes like the Summit and other eTrex models, rather than 1 like the original eTrex...
  16. Yep. No click-stick (or click-stick UI), and it has the same low resolution of an eTrex or eTrex Summit. The info page I mentioned is very similar to the Legend's Trip Computer page, but with fewer fields.
  17. A friend just purchased a yellow eTrex at Wal-Mart, and I noticed it has a number of new features, including a new info page with ~5 user-configurable fields, a WAAS mode, and more. The firmware version is 3.0, but the latest firmware availble on the Garmin web site is 2.14. I've Googled and found nothing about a new FW release for the eTrex. Anyone know anything about this, or did my friend get some kind of pre-production prototype or user hack? Steve
  18. Ok, time to start grovelling (missed the order deadline - DOH !!!!) Anybody up for a trade for one of the Idaho coins ? Have 04 WA and 04 WestTenn now, expect the 05 Calgary in about a month, also willing to do a buy'n'swap (for example a 05 USA if you don't have one) or the like. For trades, I recommend you hop on over to http://www.idahogeocachers.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=6 and post there. Steve
  19. The Idaho Geocoins Are Here! And they are fabulous. See http://www.idahogeocachers.org/forum/viewthread.php?tid=405 for more information and a sneak peek. Rob (idtimberwolf) will be getting the coins in the mail to those who placed orders from other states in the next few days. If you placed an order and have not yet heard from Rob requesting your address (or if you have not yet responded to his request), please contact him immediately via his user profile. Please do not contact him regarding additional orders or coin purchases -- the order period is closed, and all coins are spoken for. Thanks for your patience! Steve
  20. Please Confirm Your Payment Status! All, If you placed an order for the Idaho Geocoin, please go to http://www.idahogeocachers.org/forum/viewt...page=10#pid4347, look for my 1/9/05 10:44 PM post, and confirm your payment status. We have a number of orders for which payment has not been received -- if we don not receive payment 9or affirmation that it has been sent) shortly, we will cancel these orders. Thanks. Steve
  21. Xangxa, One more question -- how'd you create the example GPX file 'skeleton' in your post? When I create a single-waypoint GOX file in ExpertGPS, it has a lot more stuff in it. Steve
  22. Xangxa, I just installed Resco Explorer, and it's very nice. The latest version (offered for $14.95 at http://www.resco-net.com/oem/explorer.asp for iPAQ 4155 owners) includes an option to permanently set the 'Open With' application -- just tap the file, chose the app to open it with, and click the 'Always use this program...' checkbox. (You can also tap and hold and chose 'Associate with'.) Thanks for the tip! Steve
  23. But GPSBabel doesn't run on the PPC, does it? I'm looking for a way to create Pushpins on the PPC without having to use a PC.
