  1. I've had 3 run ins with Johnny law during cache adventures. One time I was at the side of the road in Tx waiting on a call back from the owner of the cache. Patrolman actually pulled over to make sure I was ok. Another time in SD a patrol woman stopped to make sure my boys and I were ok. 3rd time I was stopped for making an illegal uturn because I passed the cache location. LOL
  2. Here's my cache hunter hauler and GPS holder. I call it a Jeep, not light truck or car and no fancy people names. Just plain ol' Jeep or the Man Jeep. Keep the fancy People names for New Beetles, Sions, and those tree hugger hybreds. LOL
  3. Thanks to mooncat I was able to find this thread. Here's my Jeep: 1997 TJ 35" Cooper STT 5.5" FabTech lift w/RE springs 4.56 gears ARB lockers Custom fabbed bumpers and sliders by me Ramsey 8000 winch 4:1 transfer case Black TJ with another member of military jeepers behind me in South Dakota On the trail that led to Iceman Cometh On the way back from "Redbarn overlook" Yards from "A View of Wall Drug" My rig flying the colors on Memorial Day
  4. I use the scout ahead trick as well. I will tell my boys to start searching as I search. When I locate the cache I will tell them "Have you looked all over this area here?" It keeps them involved and has gave them the insight in what to look for at other caches. My youngest is the Micro master. LOL
  5. I mean I'm kind of on the fence on this. I see why it's no cool or it's silly to log your own cache. Like I mention to some people searching for a cache I planted. I went out because it had so many DNFs. I had to make 2 trips just to find my own cache. Now that could be considered a find. Doesn't matter I don't need the finds. I was just curious what the jury thought.
  6. So I should have also asked what prevents the average user from doing this. Even if we think it's silly or lame? FTF LMAO
  7. A few of us have discussed this on more than one occassion. I tried using the search button, but got errors each time. I think the arguement would work both ways: 1. You can't find your own cache cause you know where you planted it. 2. You had to find the location to plant the cache and in a cache populated city is a lot of work. 3. Sometimes you have to return to your cache for Maintenance and they have been moved from the original location. Any owners of multiple caches will probably agree it's hard work.
