  1. Hey Chris, I see you are a ham operator. What is the call sign for the club station you work out of? Does Freeport have a repeater? I am no ham, one of these days I will be though. My dad is an extra, w5cu, so I know the ropes. 73, -Mark
  2. hmm, it says american doesn't approve, but I use it in their planes....peculiar!
  3. I've found that I am not very good at explaining geocaching to people. Does anyone have a certain statement they use for the unknowing? I'm looking for diversity and humor helps! Thanks
  4. Hello folks, I'm just wondering how the caching is in and around the Dillon, MT area...what is the scene like? I am a geology student and will be up there for 6 weeks this summer. I am looking to even set up an earth cache or two...the first of many around the great places I visit. Thanks! -Malarky
  5. Hordes of women? All I get is some freaky kid on a bike screaming "TWO DOLLARS!"... He won't leave me alone! I still want my two dollars. Did 'Bro just own up to being a freaky kid on a bike? Ok, fine, then! Gee Johnny, I don't have a dime...
  6. ...when you march through snake infested muddy water in flip-flops, than climb a steep bank and walk in high, tick infested grass to get to an area where you could spend over an hour looking for a small hidden object in the heat of summer.....and find it!
  7. I dunno...Is going to a Wal-Mart (Tram-Law) parking lot a sport, game, or hobby? Is solving puzzles, word problems, or trivia a sport, game, or hobby? Statistics would probably tell you that most people think the latter is a game, coyotered's quote is a sport, both of which can be hobbies, and the former (wal-mart), well....I won't go there.
  8. I was 30000 feet in the air and my CSx said I was 3000, so I told it, "he gps, recalibrate my altitude, punk" and it was like, "sure thing, doc." And that is how I fixed that, it was 33,000 after that and the landing went smoothly.
  9. Have you been frolicking in the Opium fields again heady?
  10. I never have understood all this pda stuff for caching. Is the whole cache website downloaded onto the unit? Logs, hints, and all? And would the palm z22 be capable of this if it is true? Is it a certain file labled as a gpx and if so does it need certain software to transport information through the USB? If you can think of any more information that would help in this direction I'd be much obliged.
  11. I again say "it's not a game" (really like the "how can it be a game when nobody wins?" comment above) but I found the most definitive proof that it should be a "sport": from http://www.geocaching.com/about/ Geocaching Resources The Geocaching FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Everything you would like to know about the Geocaching sport. Celticwulf " Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Frequently Asked Questions About Geocaching If you don't find the answer you're looking for here, ask it in the forums! What is Geocaching? Geocaching is an entertaining adventure game for gps users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a gps unit. The basic idea is to have individuals and organizations set up caches all over the world and share the locations of these caches on the internet. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. All the visitor is asked to do is if they get something they should try to leave something for the cache. " hmmm, it looks like we have come to a draw my friend.
  12. It is a game that at times requires sports.
  13. it doesn't give you a topographical presentation with the caches displayed as you walk by or up to them - gives your position on the map and the cache - no need to even bring up the pointy arrow. Isn't that what the GPS'r is for?
  14. What make "rock" "Christian rock?" They sing about Jesus instead of sex and drugs and rock n roll. Which makes me ask, why are there so many rock n roll songs about rock n roll anyways? Do jazz artists write songs about jazz? Did Mozart write pieces about classsical music? Which leads to another question, did they call it classical music back then, or was it just music? OK, I'd better stop before this gets moved to OT. classical music cannot be expressed in this sense because it has no lyrics. Mozart didn't right about anything. Jazz is mostly without lyrics as well. He wrote music for the benefit of music. When Chuck Berry sings rock n roll music I'm not thinking, "I'm listening to music about music...weird.." I'm telling myself, "man, this guy has got a good beat and feel." People write about what they like and know....musicians know rock n roll so....

  16. hahaha, let's make the top a TB hotel while we're at it.
  17. Climbing everest isn't a stroll in the park. You don't get a whole lot of time to search up there in the first place. If you hide it from the elements people would more than likely not find it and if you left it a little exposed, well then it would disappear shortly thereafter. People are a little slower as well and every foot placement counts. The thought is a neat one but it is simply too illogical.
  18. That item number is a hot pink cell phone cover....
