  1. I don't blame ya for the flim flam thing...I tried to sell some on e-bay...not worth much now-a-days...
  2. Take your pic Also...how in the world did this happen?? (who is this Sixteen character?!)
  3. <- Same size as the one you posted <- 88x31 Not the best...but quick
  4. Hence the reason I suggested making it an Event cache...
  5. Not sure if it would really work how you have envisioned it to...If it was only once a year, you would get a big group of people sitting there waiting for their turn to turn over the rock and see where they were supposed to go...or they would just all follow the first guy/girl who turned over the rock (or whatever item is used...) Would be pretty cool if you could work it out somehow though... Maybe you could have several caches placed that would give a date, time and place (coords) to meet to log the final leg of the cache...and everyone meets up ....kinda like an Event-Multi...
  6. Nah...if he did that he would just delete one of his virtual logs before logging the new one down the street
  7. I guess I feel a bit the same. Pretty lame criteria for basing your respect of another person on... Some people just don't have what it takes to be able to place a cache...and I would rather they NOT place a cache if they aren't good at it. I do think that it's a good idea that people at least attempt to hide one....but I am not going to lose any respect for that person if they don't think they would make a cache that people would remember...and talk about (in a good way). Even if a person has never hidden a cache...I will respect that person for other things they may have done...such as sending a spare GPS unit to a new cacher, donating $ to a person in need, giving their time to help others, offering a kind word to a person who is down....anything like that...but to not respect someone because they haven't hidden a tupperware container in the woods somewhere?...weak.
  8. I thought of that too...but then it wouldn't be "Kid-Friendly" anymore...
  9. Too bad you aren't going to Florida... Papa Smurf (Blue Man Multi) Smurfette (Blue Man Multi) Or Ohio... Nerdy Smurf Cache Or Pennsylvania... Papa Smurf, Are We There Yet?
  10. Saxy...that is one of the coolest pictures I have seen...very nice job of getting it!
  11. I can't wait to hide my first cache....thing is though...I want to make sure it's not a lame cache. Not everyone can just place a cache...unfortunately some do...and these caches turn out to be pretty bad. If it takes me a year to come across a place that a) has no other caches in the area and has a wow factor (not sure what that is yet...), then so be it...if everyone placed a cache for every cache they found, or for every 50 they found, we would be overloaded with caches that don't mean anything (other than a number for some). And like CO says...some hide....some find...some do both...everyone gets something different out of doing different things in this sport... Edit: smilies were enabled...
  12. I do now...you edited your original post to add the links at 3:19...I posted my reply at 3:10....they were not there when I replied.
  13. Pssst....photos would help when referencing ...photos!
  14. Thanks Sept1c...and thanks El Diablo Guess I haven't gotten that far in that issue yet!
  15. Yeah...it is very cool!...actually, my theory is that Dave Ulmer IS Ross Perot...kinda sounds like him...and there is the book...
  16. Hmm...I guess I see what you are saying...I suppose that if you are the cache owner, and see that you could improve a cache by archiving it and moving it or changing it so that it's a new challenge or gives it an added dimension...then maybe that should be done. But only if the current cache seems to have been visited a number of times (subject to your discretion depending on your area), and maybe hasn't been visited in quite some time... Edit: Spelling
  17. We should all put our names in a hat and whichever name you draw is whose house you move to...kind of like Musical chairs...only with houses...that way you will have new caches to visit...I say we do this every 3 years. On a serious note...I think with the amount of new cachers who join this sport every day, new caches will continue to show up in areas that may seem to be stagnant...caches get archived...removed or whatever...and a new cache gets placed in or around the same area with (hopefully) a new twist...something to keep it fresh for those of you who who have found everything in your areas... Sure it will slow down quite a bit...and maybe no new hiders move into a certain area...but overall I think the sport and the community will find ways to make sure that we keep hiding and finding entertaining caches...
  18. My thoughts exactly...you have a very kind heart
  19. Oooh!...a burning Six on a stick!
  20. I'm with you on this one...
  21. Anyone see a dead horse around?... This could and probably will go on forever...or until it is closed by Mopar or a mod...so lets look at what we have and end this... 1) Mopar was right for not touching them...no he is not a "biologist"...therefore he was correct in assuming the worst of the needles condition. 2) Placing a note on the cache page was also the correct thing to do...as a precaution to future cachers...once the needles were removed, another note, by the owner or cacher who noticed the area was clean, to let people know the area had been cleaned up, would also be appropriate. 3) Imajika pretty much summed up what should be done...do not touch them and contact the police dept...they do not need to know there is a cache a foot away...just that there are potentially hazardous materials at X location...let them send out people with proper equipment to dispose of the needles. 4) I am a diabetic...so I personally probably would have removed them and placed them in my sharps container...but not everyone has access to one of those (and I would hate to witness the day when a sharps container becomes standard equipment in a cachers backpack) In summary, Your safety first (Do Not Touch), Others safety Next (Contacting the Authorities and Alerting Future Cachers), Resolution in the end (When The Area Is Cleaned Up)... -Six
  22. I had issues with what to do with this as well...I wanted to have a nice gallery of images in my profile...but also did not want to have my pics give the cache away...on a couple of caches I did as Auntie did and labeled the pics as possible spoilers...I thought about how to handle it for a long time...I don't want to ruin the fun of the game for anyone...but I also want to record my finds in my gallery...most of the pics are not even close to spoilers...but in the event that I saw something that would make a nice picture and it happened to be near the cache...or the actual cache...I wanted to be able to have that in my gallery...I wish there was a way to have it posted to your gallery without it being on the cache page... Still torn on this... -Six
  23. Did you say ju66ler? BAAAAAAhahahaha ... whoa, you are funny. Yes...I know there is often a lot of "controversy" surrounding his posts...but I can't recall him ever gettinh hot-headed (I may be wrong)...but I think he would stick to his guns and be fair as far as moderating goes... Also, yes, Briansnat...I guess I already thought he was a mod... -Six
  24. I actually thought of you...but then yes...as you said...you are too sweet and innocent...I couldn't picture you being mean when you need to...and you would need to I think the Smurf, ju66ler, criminal, carleenp, and RK would all be good choices... -Six
