  1. a black plastic garbage bag laying on the ground. walked padt it and shoved it out of the way several times. when I finally looked at it --- yuk nast wet and smelly - wet log - reported it all in the log cc\
  2. I get a lot of the same stuff as Brian at the Dollar Store. cc\
  3. Here are a few prompts; maybe one of these will convince your caching partner: "Honey, it slipped out of my hand and appears to be gone forever. " "What do I want for Christmas? ...hmmm let me think... " "Pleeeeeeease" (flash those big blue/brown eyes) "Dear, I have come up with the perfect present for you..." "We absolutely need to get this for the car; it's a safety item ... think of the kids..." And if your caching partner is your dad, then there is always: "Daddy, Pleeeeeeease. I really, really need it" (don't bother with flashing those big blue/brown eyes, that does not work in this situation - it just makes him suspicious). ...and as always ... "your milage may vary"... neat ideas - and you got the person right -- partner is my wife - cc\
  4. It shouldn't be difficult to convince a caching partner to get one. It would be more difficult to convince an non-caching spouse to get one. Luckily the 60C and 60Cx look so much alike, mine won't know the difference!!! HA! I thought I was being obvious - my caching partner IS my wife! now what? I was thinking the same thing about looking the same. cc\
  5. well now - learn something new all the time - never heard of the army men. cc\
  6. Yeah, but the email the owner recieves has nothing to tell him or her what cache the email is referring to. I've forgotten to include a reference a couple of times when corresponding with cache owners and it would be nice if the subject or text or an attached URL had been included automatically to indicate what cache page I clicked from when I started the message. A one-click "send" from the cache page really would be nice. now THAT's a different story - one I like. I've had the same thing happen. I forget on the other side tho - when I get a notice of found caches - I have to be careful which one I am talking about when I answer back. cc\
  7. nope! sounds pretty cool to me too! hmmm... now just how do I talk my caching partner into it? cc\
  8. there already is a link to the owner's profile page - just click that and then - send message cc\
  9. I have adoped and modified a few of mine but most were original ideas. check out this one - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ae-77a3b4a3bee2 cc\
  10. probably a travel bug -- go to your personal page - look at the menu at the left select track travel bug cc\
  11. press the Find button - then select geocache - it is the same as find waypoint but gives you special icons and let's you know you found the cache. you have to have first uploaded the caches to your gps - see the GPS and Software Forum - lots of info there. Also suggest you check out your manual. cc\
  12. Finally - reading through this thread and I was wondering if anyone else used GSAK. Go to the GPS and Software forum and check out the stuff on GSAK - there is a long thread there. Also go to http://gsak.net/ and read the FAQ - download it and play with it. go here http://gsak.net/help/hs2000.htm --- the screen shot should tell you what you can do in general - then click on the different areas - and read about them - then hit the back button and click another. awesome program - I could not cache without it. cc\
  13. went to the big K and wally world and neither had the trail markers - but I did find them on line in several places. cc\

  17. glad you found it - but something else to be aware of - Like someone said above his comport is 5 - so is mine - so that is where I have my software setup - all 3 programs but if I don't pay attention and plug the usb connector into the SAME port every time it is a different comport - be aware -- cc\
  18. some interesting comments - I do like RK's comments - but from my own searching on puzzles - it seems that the difficulty is in the puzzle and not getting to the cache itself. Fizzymagic has some really tough puzzles in my area http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...8b-2f8a3ce0debb we solved this one but have not gone for the cache yet http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...3a-c40411e307e4 this one is has got to be a true 5 - by Lamneth - I haven't even tried it yet. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...9f-0baf6549e8b6 and of course this 5 by kablooy is just a total mind screw - another I can't get close to a handle on - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...3f-ed2bdd106d0e
  19. if what you describe is true - you didn't go far enough - you should also have put a needs archived on it - zzsheeessss! cc\
  20. I use Avery 5160 Address lables for my log labels. I believe you can download a template for Word for free from the Avery web site. They give cd's with a lot of templates away. If you write to me off line I'll send you a copy of my template if you want it. cc\
