I had met Tony at the Geofellas April Fools event a couple of years ago.It is sad to hear of his passing and my thoughts are with his family.You will be missed Tony. Tim

When I taught map use in cadets it was always stressed to stop an look at your back traik so you can see what the trail looks like when you are heading back out.Also ,I keep an eye out for unique objects as reference points if I get messed up.

The 15th looks good for me at this point.

I found my first 400 caches with the little yellow guy.I have upgrade since then but still keep it on had for back up.

Seeing things thru the eyes of a child as they experience something for the first time.My friends 2 year old daughter found her first catipillar last summer and her expression is one I will never forget.

I am in the Hanover Chesley area and as near as i can tell there is a repeater in Port Elgin but I am unsure of its physical location.If I can track down some info I am willing to place a cache in the vicinity. 73 de VA3AAT

At one cache I attempted I found a backpack that had been full of medical supplies scattered across aroadside picnic area.There was a purse and ID as well.Went to the local police station and took the officers to the location to retrive the articles.Needles to say I had to return a later dat for the cache.

I have always loved the outdoors and photography so Geocaching just adds to the fun.Along the way I have managed to introduce a half dozer others into this wonderful activity.

I would like to hit 500 finds and maybe try for a benchmark or two.So far I am well on the way to 500 but may have to wait on the benchmark.

When I was out caching with a group of cachers in my area we went to a cache that one of the participants had already found so he was standing near the spot where he had found it originally.The rest of us found the second version of the same cache and were signing the log book when the other person in the group asked us what we were doing as the cacche was about 50 feet or so away.It appers that someone logged a missing cache so the owner just put another out in the same spot but never looked for the original so we logged finds for both versions of the same cache.

I generaly spend alot of time caching with Yogi Mamma N Geo Baby Jess.Jess has managed to find a couple of caches after mom and I have spend several minutes of searching.Once she grabed my GPS from my hand and tossed it into the bushes and it landed on top of the container.Another time I was leaning against a rock face for balance and she reached out and pulled a small rock out and there was the container behind it. We have gotten to the point where if we are having trouble we let Jess loose.By the way the first find for Jess she was only 7 momths old.

You could try bushwacker.Its a 30 km round trip hike near Algonquin Park

I hope to be able to attend, work schedule permitting.
