  1. I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure virtual caches cannot be adopted either. I would have loved to have kept the cool CDSM monument virtual at the waterfront, but I'm pretty sure it could not be adopted. I'd be willing, but I don't think it is possible.
  2. Cool! can you get this data with a PQ? Any idea how they rank up according to percentage of finders who favorited? This seems like such a better way to rank caches. Capedoc turned me on to this script: http://www.lildevil.org/greasemonkey/favorites-percentage With it I get: 1. Little Netherlands TB Hotel: 17 or 12.8% 1. Sentinel View: 17 or 14.9% 3. Ipanema: 16 or 32% 4. Sailor's Star: 15 or 7.2% 5. Longfinger: 12 or 27.9% Compare to Cism's Orpheus in the Underworld that only has 9 favorites, but sits at 34.6% or Capedoc's Earth, Wind, Fire, Water with only 6, but is 46.2% or Oceans247's Pristine at 5/62.5% The script only seems to work on the cache page, so these were just guesses on caches that I knew had few finders, but lots of faves. I'd love to see actual percentage stats if possible.
  3. Cool! It will be great to meet you. I've got nothing specific on the calendar yet.

    Milestones

trevorh7000 just hit 400 finds!!! Well done! See the log: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=20e1557c-401c-4a2a-8b58-a1178b588791
  5. I have to agree with Fish Eagle on this one. They are a horrible idea. The point (to me) of a micro is to hide a cache from muggles. I do not enjoy hunting a film canister on a cliff face after bundu bashing for a 100 meters, with the GPS jumping around and 3 meters away is 20 meters up. There is small chance of being muggled, so why make it a micro? No matter how good the CO thinks the hint is, I've seen more, between two rocks, or next to the bush, or under the boulder, where it could be describing everything within sight. Having a nice treasure at the end of the hunt is nice, and having a DNF after a significant hike isn't. But then I'm not the best at finding caches. Still, if the point is the destination, why would I want to spend my time there hunting for a micro for 20 minutes rather than enjoying the view? my two cents.
  6. I got a 'listing published email' but not a new cache notification email. I think it must be because of the date placed. At least that is my theory. In any case, it has now been found. Sorry FTF hounds.
  7. Henzz just pointed out in a PM, that I placed this cache on June 5 2010, and (see listing for why) it was just published. That might be the cause. I guess we will have to wait for another new cache to see how the notifications work... Sorry if it is just a red herring.
  8. I just had a listing published by ROTSIP: http://coord.info/GC2G4AK but I didn't get a notification email. Usually, even when it is my cache, I get one. I'm wondering if the new changes made these emails smarter, and I don't get one for my own caches, or if one just didn't go out. Did anyone get an email for this new cache? It was published 12:27 am according to my gmail. Thanks!
  9. I've noticed recently if I look at the map for too long, suddenly all my smileys revert to unfound caches. I still seem to be logged in, and if I click onto my profile and back to the map, they go back to being smileys. I don't know why this happens, but it has happened to me more than once. My found status hasn't changed, it seems to be a glitch in the map. Is this what is happening?
  10. I got 91 with my PQ including the SS: Columbine Lighthouse published a while ago! Well done good sir.
  11. I just got my PQ for WC, and I see 91 in the SS: series for WC. Perhaps Paddawan can tell us himself?
  12. This looks amazing! I'm excited about the changes to the map, esp. in areas with low cache density, as the limits are really annoying. I'm interested in the favorite points too. Some seem to be arguing for higher find counts to points in the comments, but without power trails and LPCs and guardrail caches etc, we would be punished for having such high quality caches! Thanks a lot for sharing this, and it says it will change before the 25th. Very interesting.
  13. Great! Thanks! Interesting that the find counts are so low! You'd think with all the tourists we get ... I've still got a few of these to tick off my list. Glad I got the Harbor Entrance when I still could.
  14. I'm really enjoying this thread too. I'm curious about an updated list of the most popular SA caches of all time. Thanks for the hard work. It looks like I have a lot to learn about GSAK still....
