  1. Man, this is so awesome! I've read every comment in this thread and watched the SPOT diligently along your journey. This is exciting stuff for the world of Geocaching. Congratulations on such an amazing journey. Can't wait to hear and see more of it. I shared this story with our local caching club of over 100 and there are many others who have been pulling for you. Great job!
  2. Geocaching is an incredibly fun game and I love it! But the last time I checked, it's not a competition. To me, the reward is in the thrill of the hunt and the joy in the find. I can't believe that some cachers are so serious about signing logs. I have nearly 570 cache finds and though I try to have a pen on me for all caching trips, there have been a couple of occasions where I have forgotten it and I was unable to sign. But I've never lost a smiley because of it. It wouldn't be very much fun to me to just log a find without ACTUALLY finding the cache! And if there are people out there who have logged my caches without actually finding the cache, that's their loss, not mine. And do you honestly check your cache logs against the online logs? I have 10 hides in four different cities and just don't have time to verify signatures nor do I care. I like to read the stories people share when they find my caches and what they think about my cache. I just don't think it's a big deal.
  3. I just finished the book in less than two days, reading it on my HTC Hero thanks to the Android Kindle app. I'm pretty sure Kindle has an app for the iPhone as well. And of course, the paperback is available now on Amazon.com and lulu.com. Read about the book in the most recent issue of the FTF Geocacher magazine, and I sure am glad I did because it is a GREAT book! Had a really hard time putting my phone down reading this thing it was so good. Great plot, characters, suspense! I highly recommend it...
  4. Actually, that is your answer. Deleting the log will delete the find from your numbers. It might take a few minutes for the numbers to update...but that is the proper way to fix your logging sequence. Been there, done that...more than once. Okay, I'll give that a shot. I may not have allowed enough time to update the last time I tried it. Thanks, Fegan, for such a quick response.
  5. Does anyone know how to delete a find altogether? I know I can delete my log, but that doesn't affect my numbers, primarily the order of my finds. I went on a long caching run out of town and when I got home I went after a couple of newly-published listings. Because I was FTF on both of those, I was trying to be courteous by posting that I found them so all the FTF hounds wouldn't go after them, only to find out they had already been discovered. Now when I post the other 24 I found earlier that day, my finds will be out of order. Should have just posted a note, but I didn't think about that. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.
