  1. Sorry all, I am gonna have to drop outa the list for this race, guys. Very busy at work and home and havent got much time to set up or even follow stuff at moment. Thanks though and good luck with it all.
  2. I suggest a category of Australian Trig points (Benchmarks or survey points). I have a full listing of them across the whole of Australia, there is currently a locationless cache for them, and this would make a good replacement. Thoughts?
  3. Hee hee, I'm still waiting, even for the "one" timers i set up. And my subscription isnt paid up till September, question is, will it be? And yes, I have checked the mail server etc..
  4. Just checked (again) on the PQ page, I have 4 queries, and set them to run daily, last time sent was 16/06 or 06/16 to the yanks. The PQ's were set up on the 14th. I have just reset all queries to run just once a week to see what happens. I am certainly 20% under the allowed max queries per day. I also tried a once off query (then auto delete) and never got it. Tried that 3 times now. That enough info?
  5. Been waiting 12 hours for one time queries here, even logs on caches arent showing for past few days, Me thinks more is afoot.
  6. Maybe your not looking at the right page, every cache on geo.com is there + more, which means it actually has more caches than here ! Plus your gonna get very lonely over here, less than 1 % of the aussies use this board due to the stick in bum tactics of the moderators. Heres the ACT latest from .AU site. Good luck. Your better off using geo.com for the caches and the .AU forums to chat. 7. I was in that "very" garden only a few weeks ago.. "WOW" doesnt even do it justice... It's quite unbeliavable...... And a great spot for a virtual, I wouldnt want to see and also dont think it will work in the way of a real cache being there....
  8. Nope ! But that building is a lot bigger in your picture ! They had just started pouring the concrete footings when I was there. Didnt you see someone found that cache just recently? By the looks of their Pic it had been moved quite a bit.
  9. He Lives !!! I missed you last trip thru Pattaya ! Went down to Elephant Isle for a few days
  10. I don't understand how anyone was hung in this thread by most of us. <snip> But I don't know what you mean. Who was hung? (I realize you don't mean literally hung, it's just an expression) I am full of repsect for Geo.com placing that link on their front page. Personally I would also love to see a link on each & every search page by State /territory etc. but also know that the advertising there pays for what we get in a way. My meaning by "hung" which thanks for understanding what I meant was: There was certain members on those forums, who have basically pointed fingers and openly slandered me. Words like "Liar" "heartless" etc etc have been used.. All this for the cacher that started this cache in the effort to raise funds for the victims. Its a nice thankyou isnt it? (thats why I feel hung)... You cant please all the people all the time, and this certainly proved that saying to be so true... Thanks..
  11. And permission was applied for.. I know because I submitted the cache. Most of you have hung someone without even knowing what went on.. Sad Personally, We are going nowhere with the fighting and "cr@p" that has been going on in the forums.. Thanks to Heidi for getting the donation link up and running. Now all go click it and get your wallets out..
  12. Yes, mine got pulled off the site too. I am Sooooooo sorry that I had the horrible thought to try to make some small effort to help out our (supposedly) fellow humans suffering in the wake of this disaster. I have just read the other thread on these forums, where there seems to be a few main "pot-stirrers" who are blowing things out of all proportion. I wont name anyone, but I certainly am amazed by their posts. I have been labelled : " Heartless" " A Liar" etc etc. I cannot believe the gall of a lot of the people that have posted there. You need to get a life. Imagine if you where stuck in the middle of that disaster zone.. You would just be happy Lying heartless bastards like me, had decided to try to help your sorry a** out.. Thanks again to Groundspeak (and especially heidi) for the understanding, and the small effort to help these victims. No thanks to the constant complainers, and you know who you are, that got this cache withdrawn, but there was nowhere else for it to go was there. I still suggest EVERYONE donate to ANY appeal (I dont give a crap what one, as long as it helps the victims)... Have a nice day....
  13. Actually, We had done and Australian appeal cache with the way to log being make a donation direct to the red cross (crescent) so there was no third party handling of funds. Once a donation was made you had to post your receipt as an image. I am still awaiting any word from Geo.com on when "if" it is going to be approved. This was submitted on the 28/12 to them. I have read the guidelines, and it appears to "meet" them. Not a commercial cache in my views, (humanitarian organisation). It is a non-profit setup as well. Can we hear back on whats happening guys ?
  14. Not sure what happened to Irresisti. He went real quiet about 6 months ago. And hasnt logged in for over 3 months ! Where abouts in Thailand is your cache located exactly ? I ahve a number of thai friends that look after my caches over there for me. Hopefully not in the low lying areas near the indian ocean coast ! As I have a feeling some caches may have been wiped out in the tidal wave disaster a few days ago
  15. Same in Australia, ! Nothing unusual nowadays though is it ???
  16. What area in Thailand, and what type of points of interest are you looking for ? I have visited a few times in the past 5 years with an Etrex Legend, and my maps (standard Garmin Pacific basemap) showed heaps ! Even some mjinor (dirt/unsealed) back roads !! I suspect you may have the US Base map ???
  17. Hmmm, Strange that, around the time some of the already logged users were having the same problems, me thinks it was the site, not the operators Has been all Ok for the past week though.
  18. Hi All, I am the organiser of the OzBugRace 2004 travel bug race. There is rules associated with all travel bugs involved in this race, these can be viewed at the ozbugrace section at : Teampiggy.com There is 35 bugs currently in the UK participating in this race. Thanks for your help. Team Piggy
  19. There is some great caches in Thailand that we placed in April 2003. I have had them all checked and they are all still in place (Mar 2004). I too will be back in Thailand in June this year and will be keen to check out some of the other caches around the place if I get a chance. You really have to hide the caches in places that won't be found easily, otherwise they do dissapear quickly. I happily havent lost one yet and have placed about 8 overseas caches.
  20. Thanks to all that have contacted us. We have chosen one mystery team to help out. Thanks to OZ guff, but the logistics of sending Bugs to the USA to start a race in London just wasnt going to work out well. I'll still be keen to see if you get those 40 caches in a day whilst your there though ! Good luck. Again thanks to the cachers that did contact us.
  21. Ozguffs offer was not suitable, so still keen to hear from uk cachers who may be interested in organising a small get together to distribute around 20-30 "racing" travel bugs.
  22. Well, this has had a pretty poor reply rate ! of NiL ! Surely there's someone in the UK who can help us out, ? Or do we need to perhaps look at another area to start the race from ? TP.
  23. Hi All. I am in kahoots with Geo Dean on the organisation of the Oz Bug Race 2004. Dean is currently going to be staying in Australia for a little bit longer, and we are looking at anyone in the UK who can help to start off the Bug Race from the UK? Basically they need to be able to : Accept a package full of travel bugs. (Via postal courier). Organise a geocaching get together (fairly basic, maybe a pub meeting) to distribute the bugs to different cachers. It is better we have seen to distribute the bugs at one time instead of slowly releasing them to different caches. Thats it. once the bugs have all been given oput the race starts ! Please contact me via mail if you can help out.. cache@teampiggy.com Thanks. Team Piggy.
  24. This looks pretty Cool. The piggies would be interested in helping out.. IMC@teampiggy.com
