  1. I loved the calendar. I moved to an area in NW Georgia where there seems to be no events within 100 miles? (except Going Caching once a year). I used the calendar to find gatherings for dinner gatherings in the North Metro Atlanta area to attend, a two hour drive for me. I could glance at the calendar and see events for GA and go to those days for more details.

I now live at least 30 minutes driving time from any town and there seems to be no Geocaching events going on up here in the sticks up on Lookout Mountain? No Geocachers either that I know of? There are lots of Geocaches up here because of the Crawford Pigeon Mountain WMA and most of those are mine.

I’m sad the calendar has gone away because any searches for events starts from my current location (N 34° 36.6xx’ N85° 28.6xx’) a distance away from those events.

    Take care & be safe.

  2. The Atlanta Reef Dwellers Scuba Club is having it's annual Lake Lanier Clean-up and Picnic at Cocktail Cove, Saturday, August 21, 2004. This is located at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort, at the lakeside campsites #1001-1003.

    N 34* 10.785 W084* 2.880 Come by land or water.

When arriving by car, tell them at the gate you are with the "Atlanta Reef Dwellers Scuba Club" and then follow the dive flag signs to the campsites. [We may have free or a reduced fee to the Resort....working on it] It will be free if you arrive by boat.

We will also be having some Geocaching after the picnic in the afternoon.

All Geo-divers and non-divers are welcome to attend. We just need notification that you will be attending so that we will have enough food for the cookout. Please bring a side dish or dessert if you wish.

Some people will be camping out the night before at the campsites which have been paid for by the ARDSC.

Time? Start arriving after 9 AM. Diving starts at 11 AM and lunch will be served after 12:30 PM. This is a rain or shine event.

Certified Scuba Divers must supply all of their own dive gear and tank(s). Please bring your 'C Card'.

    Thanks,

  3. Well, I have a Geko 201. I'm looking for info to get a GPS that works under the trees. Mine was totally lost today. I have several Garmins units but none that will work for GeoCaching. My Geko 201 will now be a backup for my Garmin 182 GPSMAP Chartplotter!
