  1. Can anyone suggest how I can find some one willing to take over a cache that I own. Due to some health problems I am unable to maintain a cache that is in a fairly remote position, it seemed like a good idea at the time when I placed it, but now I am unable to get to it, it doesn't seem so clever. Unfortunately I do not know any cacher whom I could ask. Regards The Fellmen
  2. I recently did a little geocaching on holiday in Southern Ireland and found Ryba the fish in one of them and decided to bring him/it home to Cumbria to further his travels. When I logged onto the website I discovered that the owner wanted it to visit Valentia Island in Ireland, whoops!. I might add that there was no request as such on Ryba the Fish. My question is, is there anybody going to Ireland in the near future who would be happy to take this travel bug and place it in a cache somwhere in Ireland,it would stand a better chance of achieving it's goal if it were over there. I would be happy to post it off to anyone who would like to volunteer. Regards The Fellmen

  5. I have an MLR SP24 hand held GPS which I have had from new for about two years. I have for some time now felt that it has not been performing correctly. I have made a point just recently of monitering it quite closely, I am now convinced that the longditude co-ordinates are out. The GPS is set for WGS 84 and set for degrees, minutes decimal, as used on the Geocache website. When I go to a geocache I have great difficulty finding it as the GPS takes me to a spot usually over four hundred yards from where I shouild be, If there were no clues I wouldn't find any of these caches. It would seem that the decimal part of the co-ordinate is out by about minus.202, for example, a co-ordinate on the ground of 52n 30.945 shows a reading on the GPS of 52n 30.743. Does any one know if it is possible to reset a GPS so that it will give a correct reading. Whilst I realise that it is possible tocompensate for this when entering waypoint co-ordinates, I would prefer it if I didn't have to do this. I hope that someone can give me some help or advise about this. Best regards The Fellmen

    Geocite

American Geocachers, recently a friend of mine took a holiday in the US and whilst she was there somebody gave her two 1 dollar bills which she has brought back to England, each one has a Geocite number on it and they also have the Geocache name on them. We are trying to find any information we can about them, it would appear that they are involved with some sort of tracking system, if they are we would like to be able carry on and not let them just go to ground. If anybody can help it would be most appreciated. Best regards The Fellmen
  8. A friend of mine recently came back from the US of A and brought back with her two 1 dollar bills each with a Geocite number on them, she wants to know if they have anything to do with geocaching and if they are what do you do with them ? I've not heard of them before, but I couldn't help noticing the discussion in the forum about "new geocoins" and wondered if there was any connection. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out on this, perhaps I wouldn't look some dumb. best regards The Fellmen
  9. I also run a firewall and it amazes me the number of times that you can get scanned. It also amazes me at the different countries that they can come from. changing the subject, this is to sparky, I had a look at your website, tell me the guy with the bloody mouth, it's make up isn't ? 10. Hi Sparky, Whilst I'm no expert I feel sure it must have come from the Groundspeak page as that was the only thing I had opened up to that point. in fact I had only logged on moments before it appeared. Incidently my entry in the Forum was only meant to serve as a reminder to others to keep their anti virus software up to date. best regards The Fellmen
  11. :shocked:I'd like to caution everybody about a virus, I think it's a new one, I logged on to the Groundspeak website this morning Sun 1/2/04 and within minutes picked up a virus called Trojan Drooper. Luckily I'd updated my anti virus software only yesterday and it picked up the virus straight away. Can I remind peoples keep your antivirus software up to date. Regards The Fellmen
  12. I was told recently that it was possible to use an ordinary domestic iron for laminating, so when the boss was out shopping I borrowed her iron and tried it . After a little bit of experimenting with temperatures it worked a treat, it did no harm to the iron and she was none the wiser. If like me you only ever need to do the occasional bit of laminating then it's worth trying. P.S. I don't have any connection with any domestic iron manufacturers or suppliers.promise The Fellmen
  13. Hi Gaz! very well done, knew you would do it one day. Don't think you can call yourself a man yet though, not until you've done High Cup Nick that is. I'm only joshing, congratulations, mate. The Fellmen P.S. Still think you ought to do it.
  14. Nice idea Moss, we The Fellmen would like to take part in this, we havn't got any thing booked for June yet, so any time would suit us.
  15. Your not alone Morseman I've had one of my caches trashed on two occasions even though it was hidden in a different place the second time. The first time they scattered the contents of the container, then urinated in it and left a note under it saying "it's not orange juice it's p**s don't drink it. Happy days The Fellman
  16. Well done Moss (da boss sorta), hard to believe it's been two years. Incidently, who did win the E-Trex? Happy Hunting. The Fellmen
