  1. Sorry nevcowpok, missed you. Congrats on 100 and on to many many more.
  2. Got mine today just in time for the WSGA holiday party. Gave out two in the gift exchange and went over very well thanks.
  3. I've tried several, super glue (didn't hold up), hot glue gun (didn't hold up), and right now using epoxy (seems to be holding up just fine).
  4. Yes you can, just don't log it again as a find. Just put it down as a note saying that you are picking up a TB. There will be some that don't like this but with this group there will all ways be some one that doesn't like how some one else plays the game, so if that's what you want to do then go for it.
  5. I'd be up for it depending on the dates. I believe Evergreenhiker also mentioned some thing about going after this cache.
  6. US Navy Chief, Flight Engineer, 21 years still on active duty.
  7. Sorry about that looked at it and it said it was a 2/2.
  8. Like the chicken said that one might be a little hard to start out with I did a quick look and found a regular cache not far from the one you are looking for that might be a little easier to go for a first find. Once you get close you just have to put the GPSr down and start looking. Harms Woods Like I said it was a quick look and there might be an even easier one close to your area.
  9. MA If we do show up late is there any way that you would like us to get the money to you so that maybe you could just drop them off at the Holiday Party. Will try and get there before the party but never know how bad the traffic will be.
  10. Lost ours on the first trip, out scouting new cache places. The branches were really close to the sides of the road and must or just pulled it off. Good thing we bought a back up, will try the foam trick this time around.
  11. Congratulations Shop99er, you’re on a lot faster pace then we are.
  12. We actually use all three, for a single cache day just print out the cache page and go. Use to use just the PDA, but it gets to be a hassle to find the cache page in the data base. Now take the lap top (GSAK is so much easier to find the cache page we are looking for) and also down load topo maps for areas that looks like it could be challenging. Have a cheap inverter and plug the lap top into it, before we head out, we review the cache page, and use the PDA only if we have to refer to the cache page or the hint while we are looking for the cache.
  13. I’d also like to add is get out and do some in the winter. The advantages are that parks usually have less people, and with less foliage you will get a better lock on your GPSr and can probably get a little closer before you have to enter into search mode.
  14. Thanks everyone, and specially thanks to Evergreenhiker, for making our decision on which cache to do so easy. It was really nice the last couple of days to get out and go geocaching with out a lot of other people out and about.
  15. I'm locking this thread since I got my answer and don't want this to go off in the direction that it could very easily.
  16. I felt I should add some thing to my comments of last night. Bunson_Honeydew, the part about bushwhacking to the cache, is not the part that irritated me. Some times the problem with the written word is that with out all of the nuances of the spoken word, what you write and how some one perceives it is two different things. Why it irritated me is a lot deeper in to my Psyche than I'm willing to let you people go, Rose knew right away but then she's known me for a very long time. The first part of my comment was me venting a little and the second part since this is about Geocaching is what to do with a cache when it doesn't turn out the way you want it. I actually got my answer from Phil&Cathy, and that is why I posted that I will watch it and see if a second trail starts to develop.
  17. I just want to clarify some thing then I'll close this thread. The reason I was thinking of archiving this cache was not because of some thing any one did but what I had done. By placing this cache were it is easier to get to by bushwhacking rather than by use the trail I created a situation were people will bushwhack rather than using the trail.
  18. There are other reasons, that this POed me more than it should of. I've all ready started planning some more for Walker Valley, and I will just keep an eye on this one to see if an alternate trail starts to develope. Thanks everyone just needed to vent a little.
  19. Was a little POed when I read this, they bushwhacked to the cache and then didn't understand why I placed it in a clear cut. The whole point was the trail was one of the most interesting ones that I've seen. It is reinforced with concrete, since it's a ORV park. Clear cut equals better GPSr reception, and also equals better view of the Valley. I'm a little POed at my self also for placing it in a spot that seems to be easier to get to by bushwhacking than by taking the trail. Thinking about archiving it and putting it some were else in the park.
  20. Congratulations Moun10Bike, hopefully will get to meet you some day. I saw you at Seth's event but didn't get a chance to talk to you.
  21. Happy Holidays to every one. Thanks EvergreenHiker, we were trying to decide what cache to do on Christmas for our 200th. Now it looks obvious which one we will be doing.
  22. MarcusArelius Are you going to be at the Holiday party event, if you are could pick them up and pay you then. DuncanClan, if you don't make it could pick up yours also.
  23. Other than the first two, put an unactivated coin in each one try to put a few extra things for the next few cachers also. Have put in unactivated Travel Bug dog tags, a headlamp, and first aid kits.
  24. As in the email we will also take 20 more or less depending on the demand. Let me know when the drive down to get them is.
  25. Favorite long hike. (Did this under my alter ego Ray8251) Peak-A-Boo: Mt. Whitney Favorite hike Maple Pass Loop Trail Cache Favorite urban It's All for the Kids The most fun doing a cache The Proctor Valley Monster Project Favorite DNF Baker Lake Trail Cache I know this is more than three but these are my favorites all for different reasons. Don’t keep stuff out of caches as a general rule unless it’s signature items. Have taken items out of a cache that I thought would make a cool travel bug. Found a Krusty Krab key chain once that I just had to make in to a travel bug.
