I just seems like the 76 is not as rugged as the 60 cs. I say this ( not owning either yet) because the 60 has the smaller shape to it with a hole that can be used to click to your bag or belt and it has a nicer grip. Where as the 76 is a rectangle that looks more suitable for a car and has a bunch of nice surface area to scratch up in the upper portion of the device. If the 60 had more mem and floats, there would be no decision. Therefore the 60's would seem to have the better style.

Do you receive any sort of certification after completeing this course?

Do you guys know if this is just a garmin 60,76 specific problem...or is this something that would happen with other brands..

The Meridian Color is pretty good, but it has only a 160x120 pixel color screen. The Meridian Platinum is a good unit with a 3-axis compass. The 60C seems to be a pretty good unit overall except for only having 56 megs memory, but it works better than the Meridian Platinum I had. I avoided the 60CS, since I didnt want the sensors, since I already have a Map 76S. So do you use the 3rd axis in the compass quite often...or is it just a bonus when using it. And will I be exceeding the 56Mb and having to dump some info before adding more...or should I just be looking for something with more mem.?

I am a new to the site and to geocaching... And Im excited to purchase a GPS unit. I am looking to purchase a good model right away, instead of upgrading down the road. So I am looking at the 60cs ( or possibly the 76cs...cause it supposedly floats...which is important) and the meridian color. I am wondering where I should go for the cheapest price, as local stores other than lebaron are hard to find. And Im interested in shipping it from somewhere out of province to get half the taxes Thanks for any help.!!!

I am trying to decide between 60cs and Meridian colour. And was wondering if the Extra Mem. slot and 3-axis compass are essential? and if so...what do you use them for? Thanks!!
