  1. Check out the Miles Per Dollar Calculator for a new perspective on your vehicle's fuel consumption. Mine is currently 6.90 MP$. Ugh. What's your MP$?
  2. And when Maxwell Q started posting here, he curiously neglected to mention that he posted a Needs Archived log on Criminal's cache. Glad I saw it before Criminal deleted it.
  3. Do you think it was appropriate to post a Needs Archived log on Criminal's cache instead of contacting him directly...blah, blah, blah (what you were whining about)?
  4. I found this page a few months ago.
  5. There's some bedtime reading material. Thanks!
  6. View the source of a page you like and copy & paste and adapt it for your own use.
  7. There are advantages to thinking different. More people than ever are discovering that fact. I'm still stumped as to how to let the Windoze users view my video from within the cache page. The code should work over there...
  8. When you view the page source, do you see anything resembling the link to the video on YouTube? Weird stuff...
  9. You guys get the two text links to the video within the cache description, though, right?
  10. I don't think my momma gave me that weird name... Are you on Mac or Windoze?
  11. Thanks for the report! You should still be able to view the movie, just maybe not today.
  12. The cache in question is active now, with the embedded video working perfectly in Safari. I would be curious to hear how it appears in other browers, if at all.
  13. Twelve-year-old good-as-new Benchmade Mini-Reflex: and: No, automatic knives (aka switchblades) are not evil. Neither are machetes.
  14. The image link to the video is a static image, similar to any other jpeg, and doesn't load the movie until and unless you click the link. Speaking of users wanting to watch the video; any takers?
  15. That was my original plan, and where'll I'll probably be going again, if I can't embed the video. Again, the embedded video only plays in the cache page if the user clicks to make it play. For those who would rather watch the video right there within the cache page, rather than on another window or tab, that's a great option, especially if they want to look at the cache description while the video plays under it. Just an idea... Here's a screenshot of how it appears in my browser: It just sits there waiting to be watched, and nobody is forced to watch it if they don't want to. You have to admit that's cool.
  16. Thanks for replying! I share the same opinion regarding embedded audio. I should have mentioned in my opening post that the video comes through as a static preview image unless and until you click the included "play" icon, giving you the choice whether to view it.
  17. I was experimenting with placing an embedded video into a cache page, but I'm only having limited success. It works great in Safari on my Macs, but not in Firefox running in Mac or Windows. I was thinking the html for the embedded video (on youtube.com) got stripped out, but it stays put after I submit it, and but will only work for some users. Ideas? Thanks in advance!
  18. That depends on what your definition of the word "found" is. That, and: are you a private citizen, or a government employee?
  19. For better results, use that approach next time you start a thread.
  20. I read the phrase in your first log (all I had to go on at that point): "took him onto school grounds" to mean that it...well, took him onto school grounds as he attempted to find the cache. I figured since he attempted to find the cache and did not find it, that the DNF log should stay. From your second log we learn that the cacher, "doesn't do caches that involved playgrounds..." and that the tone of his log imples he never even tried to find it. You could have followed up with a clear mention of how and why you modified the cache, which is probably what I would have done in an effort to strengthen the position of not placing caches on school grounds. With this situation, when you boil it down, though, it's pretty much the same either way. It all pays the same, and the upshot is that the cache was improved and that's always a good thing. I try to hand out log deletion notices as a very last resort, and only after a good faith effort to resolve the issue privately has failed. NOTE TO SELF: Replace logsheet on my cache by the high school track.
  21. His DNF log was relevant when he posted it, so it should have stayed in place.
