  1. I just DNF-ed another one five minutes ago. I didn't even get out of my vehicle.
  2. This is the one of the best "Why didn't I think of this?" features I've read about so far. Excellent idea!
  3. We can rest assured that, in the event of the discovery of a dangerous cache, a self-appointed cache cop will step up and get the cache archived, saving us all from ourselves.
  4. I'm a fairly active cacher who lives in a subdivision. I wouldn't want people looking for a cache in my yard, and I'm sure my neighbors wouldn't like it, either. When I realize that a cache is in plain view and close to one or more residences, I respect their privacy and: There are a lot other caches out there that won't make people uncomfortable in their own homes.
  5. There we have it. I guess I could/should have read more carefully. I'm thankful that my locked bug will soon be reactivated. Thank you for the info!
  6. Where are those Travel Bug guidelines? Maybe we could all use a quick refresher on those.
  7. Thanks a lot. And getting it unlocked has proven to be a time-consuming process for both me and a couple or three Groundspeak employees who very graciously and courteously advised me through the process. Now I have a dozen or so cachers asking me why I deleted their logs. If you're thinking of a kicking out a virtual Travel Bug, don't. By the way, I only made my White Jeep Travel Bug a virtual when someone held onto the physical TB for over 8 months. By coincidence, he finally made an attempt to log it into a cache moments after it was locked down. I would have appreciated a heads-up before my Travel Bug was locked, to give me a chance to delete the virtual logs first. I did pay for it, after all.
  8. That's what I enjoy about my online logs. I can enjoy those anywhere I can get online.
  9. No, I know quite a few people who complain about and ignore micros. I laugh when I see them logging an occasional micro. I'm surprised at how many cachers put a lot of importance on swag trading. If I put all of the geocache swag I have ever grabbed in one hand (it would probably fit) and sell it for top dollar, it wouldn't pay my gas to any cache near me. For me, it's all about the hunt, and a well-placed micro is as much fun as a well-placed ammo can. The key is "well-placed." I've seen WAIH* caches of all sizes. * WAIH = Why Am I Here?
  10. Here's my log from an Africanized bee attack at a cache on the Oregon Coast.
  11. After going through all that, I would probably also commit a major geocide under my old account in the forums, just for the fun of it. PS: This is my 400th forum post.
  12. My wife won't talk dirty to me. All joking aside, I have caches that fall under the OP's #3, and my reply is that nobody is putting a gun to anyone's head to put themselves in danger. If you see a cache that appears to be more dangerous than you care for, walk away.
  13. Watch the first couple of minutes of and you will find yourself making room for a new coffee table on which to plan your geocaching trips!
  14. How come Mushtang gets the gold star!? I have good reading comprehension skills, too! I want a gold star so that I have more than Johnny..."
  15. If you haven't seen the video of Dave Ulmer preparing the original geocache, or of Team360 preparing the site for the plaque, .
  16. I am in the early preparation phase for an upcoming audio and/or video interview with the one and only Dave Ulmer. If you have a brief comment or question for me to ask Father Dave, post it here and my team will select the best submissions to include in our interview(s). I plan to post links to the interview(s) here, on Icenrye's Geocaching Videozine, Podcacher Podcast, and/or YouTube upon completion.
  17. When you update the coords via a log entry, the new coords will appear as the posted coords.
  18. Some of my caches make the one the OP mentioned look like a Wal-Mart LPC. That said... Amen. <sarcasm>Oh, my! We all know machetes are evil! </sarcasm>
  19. I did cards for a while, then I got a cool little stamp of my avatar logo.
  20. Just joking - Moderators and Reviewers do a mostly thankless job; thank one today!
  21. The next step would be to factor in a vehicle payment. I'm hesitant to go for a higher MP$ vehicle, as my truck is paid for. You're gonna pay either way, whether at the bank or the pump.
