This incident notwithstanding, I have heard a lot more good about CFM's caches than bad, and I look forward to finding a few of them.
-
I know that at least some, if not all of the cachers who found the cache that day had asked for and received verbal permission from logging company employees to drive past the gate, and were advised to exit the area before the scheduled time they close the gates each day, which they did. That would seem to be non-trespassing access to me.

I don't check every log every time someone finds my caches, either. I take it as my responsibility, however, to keep my eyes and ears open for potentially illegitimate smileys on the caches I own, and take appropriate action to maintain the integrity of my little corner of the game. If everyone held the "I don't care whether the log is signed" attitude, the general integrity & legitimacy of the game would suffer. Of course, there is the other end of the spectrum where a cache owner changes the rules after some legitimate finds, and then deletes those logs because the cache finders discovered an easier approach than the owner wanted. I would be concerned that their caches would get "all beat up or thrown out into the woods."
-
...and make sure not to violate a Travel Bug owner's rules, either: I wanted to leave a really cool geocoin in my own cache for a finder to be pleasantly surprised by, so I logged a "Discovered It" log and got it promptly deleted.
-
It would be nice to be able to ignore cachers who send out trackable items and state "'Discovered it' logs will be ruthlessly deleted without warning or exception."

All Of The Cool Cachers Log DNF's Here The cache owner actually had the nerve to shoot video of the first cacher on the scene.

Speaking of being removed, is that your boss looking over your shoulder? I like Safari.

I don't think anyone here is calling them bad, but they aren't contributing to the fun like cache hiders are. But that's for another discussion.

You didn't read as far as the 3rd post in this thread, did you, #9990? I would add to that post that you have to have your browser's status bar (View>Status Bar) visible.

The new guidelines seem to include shareware (such as Audacity, among many others) from known and well-established developers. I can understand disallowing executables from Billy-In-His-Basement "developers," but established and popular software titles should be allowed. If I intentionally download and run a program that happens to damage my data, it's nobody's fault but my own. Besides, that's what my automatic backup routine is there to defend against. -

It's a sad day when the multitude of Windows security issues (actual and potential) have gotten so bad that these types of limitations are imposed on all cachers, regardless of their operating system. -
Odder currently has 378 cache hides. I have no idea how she does it.

Help wanted transferring log entries to new identity

Not a good opening line on your very first post. Besides the site isn't lame; the restriction is. And it seems to me that you're not accustomed to user name restrictions. None of this matters to me personally, as I have the coolest geoname ever. I even turned down another cacher who offered me $500 for it. -

Yard caches (especially in subdivisions) immediately go on my ignore list. Who knows what that suspicious neighbor is thinking when they watch the umpteenth stranger looking for something "just off the sidewalk" across the street? I have more respect for my neighbors than to place a cache in my front yard, and ignore yard caches for similar reasons. -
Good luck with this. I signed a similar petition at least two years ago regarding a Mac version, with no apparent movement on Garmin's part.

My color screen Garmin 60CS rocks. I would never downgrade to monochrome.
