  1. I've got it figured out! The fifth post from Ranger Fox on this forum helped a ton for anyone else with the same issue. Thanks everyone who responded for the help.
  2. Thanks, but I'm still not understanding it. When using that first link to Wherigo, it says it will compile the cartridge, when done it gives a gwc file, which isn't helping me anymore than a lua... So I clicked on the Cartridge Compile Service instead for third party (Wherigo kit) This links me to a list of coding, I'm not sure what to do with that or how it converts a cartridge...
  3. It's been a few years since I've homebuilt a Wherigo and I'm in the process of building a few cartridges, but I'm having some issues after building the cartridge on Wherigo\\Kit. That was easy enough and when I click the build button it gives me a .lua file, but it needs to be a gwz in order to upload to Wherigo.com. I've spent hours trying to find ways to convert it, but I just can't find anything that will do the conversion, it's getting pretty frustrating at this point. Anyone have any tips or ideas? I'm on an Apple Mac if that makes any difference. Thanks Alex
  4. Thanks a ton! Got the source code on a puzzle now.
  5. Had to turn it on. I have no idea how the setting was turned off. Thanks! For some reason it wouldn't let me edit so I had to google how to & got this link: https://www.geocaching.com/my/statistics.aspx The link gives you the option to edit your displayed stats. This should help anyone else having the issue as I did.
  6. Hello, I was checking my profile for my "Distance to Finds Stat" which I have seen in the past on my geocaching.com profile stats. I just tried to check it for a challenge cache, however when I did so the stat is no longer on my profile. Someone on 8/1/21 posted a picture of the stat. Did I turn on or off a setting to block this stat?? All my stats are turned on and can be viewed by anyone. Help!! Thanks
  7. Figured out the issue. https://www.ezyzip.com/dev-lua-to-zip-convert.html# Works great if anyone else runs into this issue!
  8. Hello, I have a few homemade WIG cartridges using Wherigo//Kit. It's been a little while since I've done this & I just finished making another one. The issue I've run into now is that when I build the cartridge on Wherigo//kit, it is a "lua" file. I need it to be "gwz" & "zip" in order to upload it to Wherigo.com. Does anyone know how to do this? I've found a way in the past, but I can't figure out how exactly I did that. Thanks!
  9. Hello, I am looking to setup a two part "WIG Series" if it can be called that. There are two caches, one is a "bonus" to the other. However, both caches have cartridges, with the exception of the second cartridge requiring a code from completing the first cartridge... Is this a legal setup these days? Thanks
  10. My computer cant download macros on GSAK, the one I want to download is (https://gsak.net/board/index.php?showtopic=23297&st=0&#entry214136) the birthday macro... My computer simply says that whatever macro I try to open, cannot be opened. Does anyone know a how this can be fixed to find macros that can be opened ? 12. When puzzle solving the source code sometimes holds the puzzle or a hint. I have always used cachly (app) to view a source code as it is very easy to view. However I have no idea how to view the page source code can be viewed for a cache page description on the computer. I have an Apple Mac. Can anyone help? Thanks MindlessEngine
  13. There are some cachers around who I know will use the spoiler as much as they can as they said so. For the most part, they are the people who have one goal in geocaching: Find everything possible, clear out everything in a 50 mile radius of their home. Nothing wrong with that, but I would rather people put in the work to solve puzzles and enjoy the cache. They also just write generic logs since to them they just found a traditional with no particular standout aspect.
  14. I thought about moving. Although what about the people who solved them the right way.. I also don't understand how they get the finals for multi-stage puzzles.. GC4T94A is a good example. He put it on the spoiler list yet its 7 stages after the puzzle....
  15. Is there a way to have the spoiler list on FaceBook known as the 'Geocache Puzzle Spoiler' removed or blocked or something? I mean he/she completely ruins 'puzzle caching' as we know it. Just giving answers to people who know of the list and take advantage of it seems stupid for geocachers who take the time to solve a puzzle the right way. He has placed many puzzles that I own and really like. I am happy to give hints to anyone who asks, however I don't want just anyone to be able to bypass the puzzle.... Does anyone have any background information I don't know about here? Or even who it is?
  16. It looks like power trails are here to stay now........... GS just added the power trail attribute..........
  17. I am trying to build a Wherigo cartridge. When I try to right click on the map to make a new zone nothing happens. Any thoughts? I am using an Apple Mac. Thanks!
  18. It appears you "posted a note" when you should have selected the log "Dropped Off". Website: To do this go to "log geocache" for (GC73X4F). Since you already found it, then "post a note" and say something like "TB Drop". Then select "drop trackable". Let me know if you need to know how to do it from the app. It took me a bit to figure this out when I was new to:)
  19. I have heard of GeoTrails in the past and just assumed they were similar to a GeoTour. Today someone found a series of caches I had placed and said "Working through the new geotrail" today. Just wondering if anyone could let me know what a GeoTrail is and how it works. Thank you! Alex.
