Probably not.
Wow you're nice.
I thought mods where supposed to be HELPFUL, not insulting.

One thing Grounspeak could do is a 5-star cache rating system just like the GPS ratings. The successful finders can rate and explain why.
This should be non required. all up to the finder and if s/he wants to help the cache owner.
Much like DNF's. You don't HAVE to log them, it's just polite to.

Good grief!! Isn't it worth $30 just to avoid that PITA?
PITA?
-
yeah, do you want ME as my cache topic mod?

The problem is that all of the stat-generating programs I'm aware of require the "My Finds" Pocket Query (PQ) to generate the stats. This way they can guarantee the condition of the data being fed into the program. The only way to get the "My Finds" is via Premium Membership.
Darn...
for this reason I would like Groundspeak to allow the My finds PQ to be accessed by all cachers.
the my finds is a PQ that is very useful. it's the only PQ that should be available to all.
You can get around it by using GSAK and personally marking the caches you find as "Found"...than use that stat generator...
I have GSAK and I don't understand how to load my cache finds. Explain?

boooooooooop.
that was a test of the Groundspeak Emergency Alert System. If this was a real emergency, you would hear...
OHMYGAWDWEREALLGONNADIERUNFORYORLIVESAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
This was just a test.

Anyone know where I can find a cache stat program that doesn't require a premium membership?
-
touche...
fine I'll explain.
1: go to hide & seek a cache
2: get the coordinates for a cache that is nearby
3: type them into hide&seek
4: premis will show up as a certain distance away.
5: take GPS and move cursor to coords that you think are correct. (if GPS has map & moving cursor)
6: type those coords into H&S and see how close you are.
Repeat 5 & 6 until the premi cache says "Here"
Now... how do you log this?

EDIT: duplicate post

Of course there is always the back-door logging option, if you can somehow get the co-ordinates.
p.s. I have the coordinates.
Oh yeah? Who gave them to you? I have a feeling someone is in big trouble.
No one gave them to me, I found them out by myself and I'm not telling how.

I've heard of this, but I don't know exactly how to do it. PM me if you do.
p.s. I have the coordinates.
It costs $30 / year for the back door option.
har har...

I'm guessing that this person is a fake and that they logged for the stats. this person hasn't logged on since early this year.

Our plan was to banninate you, thereby reducing the volume of new forum topics from a million down to a more manageable 100,000.

c'mon its not that cccccold!!!!

server crash anyone?

I haven't been able to accesss gc website since july, server always times out.
Try a different computer, same location.
It works, then obviously something in your system or it's logical connection to the internet is at fault.
Am I understanding that you can access any other internet server at will at any time except for the ones located at goeocaching.com?
What happens if you go to a command prompt and type: ping geocaching.com?
ping gc.com results,4 packets sent 305ms to 358ms, ttl=108
Mine only comes out at packets sent: 4 received: 108ms to 130ms
what type of connection is your internet? Broadband, DSL, Dialup?
also are you using xp, or vista?

It depends. Say you were in the woods near someones house and they come out an ask you what your doing. then I would tell them. But, if you were in a public place like, in a park, then make up a reasonable excuse why you are grabbing that stump in an odd way!

Premicaches have been bugging me lately. my reason is that this morning, I revived the weekly newsletter saying there was a few new geocaches less than a mile away. These caches turned out to be all premi's and one was even a letterbox hybrid which are uncommon in my area. And of course, since I am not a premium member, it was a no go. I found this a little unfair but shouldn't all geocaches be opened to all geocachers?

Sept. 301st!

But I do believe that cache logs and Needs Maintenance should be sent to E-mail.
they do!
YES I KNOW THAT!!! I'M NOT STUPID!!!
-
I think there should be a PM box on the Geocaching.com web site. this would help because some cachers check the web site more than E-mail, resulting in more speedy response for things like Need Maintenance, and questions.
But I do believe that cache logs and Needs Maintenance should be sent to E-mail.
2 messages to cache owner for cache maintenance.
No I am not bored. I actually think this is a good suggestion!

I heard that to fend off a bear, you sock it in the nose because the pain is unBEARable!
(there are many nerve endings in the bears nose!)

So with all this talk about the number of active caches, does anyone know of how many active Geocachers there are?
Active as in: Geocached in the last two months
Not: jumping jacks active
