  1. MGST, It's just so special to hear your latest news. We've been wondering where you've been hiding for so long Scooter has asked me to show off some of her new things -- us girls did a little shopping last week Here are her new shoes for going caching: After we go home and freshen up, it's time to go out on the town. Aren't these just the cutest things you've ever seen? And then when it's time for beddy-bye, she picked out these darling bunny slippers --
  2. Another good reason not to ever move again Seriously, we're going to miss you here in the Fourth Corner -- you've contributed a lot to the caching here. Your new home base will benefit from your enthusiasm and creative cache hides. We wish you well!
  3. A big WAHOO to one of our 48 North chapter members, Lizzy, for hitting 500 yesterday!! Congratulations, friend!!
  4. 3 (first place) 5 (second place) 2 (third place)
  5. Dick, I've said it before and I'll say it again -- you are amazing! You have inspired a lot of people with your enthusiasm and vigour in pursuing this game that we all enjoy, and have set a great example for us to follow. I can't wait to read your posting telling us that you've finished all 50, and are going to Disneyland to find that mystery cache reserved for those who have completed the ultimate Delorme challenge!
  6. Just a reminder to mark your calendars for August 17-18 so you don't miss the 2007 WSGA campout, to be held this year in sunny Port Townsend. This year's campout promises to be better than ever, with new activities, a custom trackable event geocoin, great food and lots of fun for all ages! The cache page for the event has just been updated with a preliminary schedule of events and more information on registration for the event 2007 WSGA Campout Check it out, make your plans to tent or RV, or stay in one of the area motels or B&B's -- but whatever you do, you won't want to miss this great event! The cache page will be updated with more information as the date gets closer, so check back often! Hope to see you all there!! Half-Canadian WSGA President
  7. The better half, of course! (You asked for it, EraSeek)...
  8. I've always felt the same way about classifying Ontario as "central Canada". To me, it seems like Ontario should be part of "eastern" Canada...that is, until I look at a map to remember how much real estate there is east of there

    Kudos

I will second that! Brian stuck it out through thick and thin to get these coins done, including an extra one for our new South Central Chapter at the last minute. Without all the time he has generously contributed to this project, it would never have gotten beyond the design phase, to say the least!! Now where is that clapping smilie when we need it? Half-Canadian WSGA Pres.
  10. I happened to be visiting relatives in Wisconsin recently from my home area on the west coast, and attended an event while I was there -- partly to meet some of the local cachers and partly to see how they dealt with this multiple logging of events. Not only was the practice encouraged, but the event host included in his opening introduction to the group how and why to multiple log the event. I guess the thing that bothered me was that there were a number of obvious newbies there who took this in as being the "correct" way to acknowledge temporary caches. They were nice enough folks, but that's just not my cup of tea. I did log the event, though...once
  11. I guess I'm the resident expert here on the border crossing since I go back and forth multiple times each week. If you'd like to email me directly through my profile -- Half-Canadian and Scooter the Wonder Dog -- I can help you work out the best locations and times to cross the border to cut down on delays, as well as share my tips for avoiding problems at the border.
  12. I would NEVER feed my dog something I found in a cache. However unlikely, it could have been intentionally poisoned by someone who doesn't like dogs and I am not willing to take that risk. It would be like allowing a child to eat Halloween candy that they got from strangers -- probably OK but is it worth risking their life or health? Tennis balls, frisbees, toys, dog bandanas...all get a thumbs up from this team!
  13. I have an ice axe that I picked up at a garage sale that I have no plans to use again. I'd want about $50.00 for it -- if anyone is interested, let me know and I can email you more info and pictures.
  14. I was watching the "In Case You Missed It" news highlights on Spokane's NBC affiliate this morning from my motel room in Moses Lake -- there was a segment showing live footage of the mailbox and a description of the "tense moments" before the geocache was discovered to be something harmless, along with the other news highlights of the past week
  15. Hey, that's pretty cool! They also sell personalized window decals! I ordered a set of the window decal ones a couple of weeks ago -- I'll post a photo as soon as they arrive and I get 'em stuck on.
  16. My cache Boomslang is just what you're describing. People always seem to enjoy it -- have a look at some of the logs
  17. Great minds think alike, Pepper! Looks like a cool car -- show us more than just the plate! Happy caching, Half-CDN and Scooter too
  18. I'd be in for up to 30 cans at a max. cost of $3.00 each.
  19. WorldCaching is a Canadian company that has the Bison style tube that you are looking for. Good people to shop with, too!
  20. If the auction is for the 30 cal. size, I'll take 50 and can pick up anywhere from the Arlington/Everett area north. Maybe WWB and I can hook up in Blaine?
  21. Excellent choice! Be sure to bring your kids along, as well as a camera. Be prepared to spend awhile at the cache location exploring the "wow" item, too! Your kids may not want to go home ...
  22. The cache that came to mind immediately was the one I did for my 1000 milestone. It fits your criteria for distance from Tacoma, is a kid-friendly cache, and has a surprise ending that will delight the entire family. If I recall, the walk is about a mile each way on a pleasant, near-level forest trail. If you go, take a picnic lunch along with you to enjoy when you reach the cache. Half Moon Cache
  23. I am in awe of your accomplishment. Not only are you a great cache finder, but you are also a fantastic cache hider! Your caches have given me challenges, laughs, and in one memorable instance...complete and utter frustration! Bravo, Birdy(s)!!
