  1. If you check the box in front of "Load file into Mapsource after generation?", you won't even have to do this step. Mapsource opens with the file already imported. Cache Well
  2. Try resetting your centerpoint coordinates. You might have accidentally changed them. Cache Well
  3. Found it, Not a bad presentation, lasted about 3-5 minutes, forget to time it. They showed a cache page that had been placed by mtn-man and the puppymonster. Didn't show enough of the page to see which one. I thought it was well done. Cache Well Edit to add name of the hider with mtn-man.
  4. Actually there is, but you have to open each cache page separately to do it. You can't get a download of multiple Caches in a single file anywhere but the PCs. Cache Well
  5. Do you have "Follow Road" turned on. It will not go to Geocaching mode in Follow Road, Need to go to Setup/Routing/Guidance Method to either Off Road, or Prompted and select Direct route when asked. You also have to be searching for a GEOCACHING type Waypoint, and have GEOCACHING setup correct. Go to Setup/Geocache. Hope this helps. Cache Well
  6. If you find a TB in a cache, and when you go to log it, it is listed as being in the cache where you found it, you "Retrieve it". If someone hands it to you for you to place in a cache for them you "Grab It". There are other reasons to "Grab it" such as when it was not listed as being in the cache where you found it. After waiting a suitable length of time for someone to log it into the proper cache, you can "Grab it". A search of this topic will find more information concerning this topic. Hope this helps. Cache Well
  7. Thank you for your rapid attention to this problem, especially with the problems that the website was having. As usual the mods are on their toes. Cache Well
  8. Eartha, I emailed you the link, and the TB Gallery pages are still active, it appears that the website is back up. Cache Well
  9. Not Knowing the best way to get this to the attention of the PTB, I reported your post using the Report button. I hope this gets their attention as this photo is definitely not family friendly. Cache Well
  10. I think that the best answer was ZackJones' answer to the previous time you asked this, last thursday, and it's still the same. If it has cutting blades, in a word, Yes. A knife would be in-appropriate as a TB since it couldn't be placed in a cache without violating the guidelines of GC.com. Cache Well
  11. I was agreeing with you and backing your statements up. I think the new icons on the website are great, for people like me that don't want to use a nuclear bomb to kill a fly (using a big, bloated program to do a simple task). I know some people want to sort out micros - but a LARGE number of people just want to know what they heck they're looking at in a glance. I too look for every type of cache, except the few things that require special equipment. sd southdelta, Sorry I misunderstood. Cache Well
  12. The same thing, LOC files just have less information in them. LOC contain the minimum information for download to a GPSr to allow the cache to be found. Cache Well
  13. On the send wapoints options selection box, that pops up when you click on send waypoints, or export to one of the various file formats, click on the Change box under the box with the GPS Symbols and the Icons to send, then select desired Icons. I had the same problem the first time I tried it. Hope this helps. Cache Well

    Problem

Was that cache that was not yet approved yours? That may be the problem unless you tried while you were logged out.
  15. I don't think you'll be able to get the hints into your 60. As to difficulty and terain, I get them to mine by using the GSAK smartcodes to add them to the description that is loaded in the note section on waypoint page. Hope this helps. Cache Well
  16. Click on Hide & Seek a Cache link on the GC.com Home page (the page you see the three items you mention). This gives a lot of search options, the Zipcode search having a mileage entry. Hope this helps Cache Well
  17. I'm trying to figure out what the request is. With the Zipcode search, you can specify the radius in miles. I don't know what the limits are in this page for non-premium members. And the State pages all have a pull-down menu to select large cities within the state. What is it that you want to do? Do this from the Search results Page, is that it? Hope this helps. Cache Well
  18. I bought my 76C from them in June and was extremely pleased with the service. They even called to confirm the order as I had given a shipping address that was different from the billing address and they wanted to verify that is wasn't a case of Identity Theft. I will continue to use them as the need arrises. Cache Well
  19. See this Post from Jeremy. Cache Well
  20. Hold off on buying the serial cable for the 60C. GSAK has the USB comms working now, for registered users, and it's only $15 for the registration. It works great and does a lot of other useful caching things. You might want to try it before buying the cable. Second point, if you are trying to download maps to your GPSr, only the Garmin maps work with it. If you are just trying to make non caching waypoints and then download these, you will need the serial cable. Cache Well
  21. I don't understand how the new Icons on the search reults will improve GSAK as the GSAK has had a container field for in the last several versions. I don't know anything about CacheMate, but if you use the use GSAK to prefix the Type and Size one letter codes to the waypoint name you can easily see what type and size cache your are searching for. Try %Typ1%Con1-%Code for your waypoint name. Now if your GPSr only allows 8 characters that is a problem. Cache Well. The new icons have nothing to do with any 3rd party software. They were created to make the search pages on GC.com more useful. GSAK and other 3rd party programs already have access to the information and if the creators of those programs want they can make whatever icons they want to display the data. All the icons do is list the size of the container now - which previously could only be found on the cache page (or in PQ's). This will save a step (going to the cache page to see what the cache is) and allow people to get more out of the search pages. southdeltan Southdeltan, I realized this and was merely trying to point out to SnoWake that He already had that capability. I think both the addition of a Size Bar Icon to the search results and the new size of small are great new features, that solve a lot of problems to some people. The new Icons won't help me because I don't limit my search to certain types and always have the cache page with me when I search. And with the smartname capability of GSAK I can tell at a glance at the GPSr what type and size the cache that I'm going to. Cache Well
  22. That's the whole point, Clyde is going to include the size containe of small eventually, but is waiting to hear that he has/doesn't have to implement a new cache type also. As Jeremy is delaying implementing the "Small" container size, to give developers time to implement it, and Clyde is waiting to implement it until Jeremy makes the decision about the "Micro Type" public, we have an impasse with GSAK. I just want to see this implemented both on the website and in GSAK within a reasonable time. Cache Well
  23. Night Pilot, The type GPSr was added in response to CompuCash or my Posts. Wasn't there on the original posting. I'LOST-HELP ME I'm sorry, can't give you anymore information than before. Don't have a Magellen and don't use EasyGPS. Hopefully, someone else can help. Or you might close this thread and post to the GSP Units and Software Forum. You'll probably get more help there. Maybe one of the Moderators will move it for you. Cache Well.

  25. CO Admin, Thanks for your response. Everything you say has merrit, as usual. I thought a long time about this before I posted it and and had no intention of stiffling OPEN discussion, nor any new ideas. I have no intention of doing that. Nor does what I have proposed do that. I just tried to get people to thing a little about the possible impact of their request, before asking for something from the people in charge of this site, which is probably the most accomodating, best run website on the internet. Probably should have waited til the weekend is over to post it but after working on it since Monday, just didn't. Maybe I need to follow my own advice. Thanks again for your response, and for all the good work you and the rest of the volonteers do. Cache Well BTW, great work in Boulder.
