  1. My Etrex usually gets me within 15' which is fine still gives you something to hunt for then
  2. Perhaps you should move to the UK then the question of concern about liability might not of entered your head
  3. Yeah .GPX files are far better than .LOC files
  4. I use an old Jornada 520 and GSAK. Become a paid up member and use Pocket Quirery to email yourself .GPX files. Open the .GPX file with GSAK then export the information to the Jornada as HTML. Makes life a lot easier than fighting with pieces of paper.
  5. Its worth paying so you can get .gpx files via email too
  6. Before everyone starts getting all excited again...... Just a another point...(I will put my tin helmet on now) If a TB will not fit in a Cache, how can it be logged as being dropped off? It hasn't been dropped off, it can't be dropped off it doesn't fit
  7. We are taking a trip down to Hampshire at the end of next week, near Romsey somewhere. Can anyone recomend any good cache to do...especially with a 3 year old in tow We will be in the area for about a fortnight.
  8. Heck! I didn't realise that there would be so many worms in that can Takes a deep breath.... ok all points taken on board and accepted.
  9. A little prickly about it aint we? I ask a question and give an opinion..... but thats seems to mean I am not tolerant and deserve a lecture from you Pyoung1s. Well welcome to Geocaching.....gee thanks.
  10. It just seems a little pointless to take a TB around with you thats all More a mile logger that a true TB then?
  11. It just doesn't seem to be in the spirit of what a TB is for IMO
  12. Being new to geocaching I just wondered if someone cold tell what the point of doing this with a TB is The "this" in question is, a cacher collects a TB from a cache then takes it with them to aother cache but instead of leaving it they just log that they have dropped it off and picked it up again Any comments would be welcome what do other people think about this? Surely this is not how TBs were supposed to operate, should there not be a rule against this? IMHO I think that if you drop it off to should not be allowed to pick it up straight away, especially not from the same cache another cacher should have to handle the TB before it can be logged on the website again?

  14. Just so we can isolate what is going on here, Load the GPX file into a new database (Database=>New) Does the information still look like it is only a LOC file? If so, then send me the offending GPX file and I will investigate what is going on. I did what you said clyde and opened the file as a new database ......still the same I have also tried reinstalling the GSAK program... but this didn't either So I am going to email you the gpx file
  15. I have just received my lastest pocket query .gpx file via email I opened it as normal but when GSAK diplayed the information it actually appears to be a .loc file I have checked the pocket query setting and it is defo set to .gpx Any ideas what is going on anyone
  16. I've know just the container your talking about Back in 1999/2000 they were sold full "celebration" chocolates, the Mother in Law bought me one for christmas and my other half emptied it by New Year An excelent cache container I would just be careful where you hide a shell shaped cache !!
