  2. Ding! Close enough. In 1908 London Olympics the Marathon started outside Windsor Castle where one half of the Royal family were seated to watch the start, the other half were seated at White City stadium to see the finish, the total distance was 26 miles 385 yards and it's never been changed back! Over to The Biffa's Wayne Hemingway, the fashion designer and founder of the Red or Dead chain, was born in Morcambe, Lancashire. What was his Father's name and occupation?

  6. Its not only the site that is slow, me too.!! I posted more or less the same comments 4 days ago ( or was it three?)
  7. The site seems to be a day behind, caches found, for example, yesterday, are shown as today on the right hand side columns. Ones found two days ago are showing as yesterday etc. The actual dates on the logs are ok at the moment.
  8. Still running very slow, and am not sure whether it is a day behind as well, as it is showing some finds as being logged today, when they were in fact logged yesterday.
  9. That's 2 questions!! Was it champagne corks in the 1600's? Nope, nothing to do with champagne, and more recent too. Too difficult?? He invented said item in 1908, and it is food related. Richard OK, I cheated on this and asked a very intelligent, pub quiz, times crossword doing, know it all, anorak wearing colleague, (but only if it's right!).........Cling-Film? His brother invented the cake Never had a Brandenburger cake, is it like a battenburg?

  11. quote from yesterday's Telegraph and Argus, Bradford. " Fans of the outdoor craze of 'geocaching' have even more facilities at their fingertips in the Yorkshire Dales. The fast growing hobby involves taking the locations of the cache- a waterproof plastic box containing information about the area, a log book and goodies- from internet websites like www.geocaching.com. Walkers then have to use a map and Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment to find the cache. The Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority ( YDNPA) has installed a computer loaded with the information in its Malham National Park Centre, which has just undergone a £50k revamp." Bradford Telegraph and Argus 22 Sep 07.
  12. However, I do have one series of caches where I don't want folks taking shortcuts to the final cache, mainly due to the sheer amount of work which went into it. In keeping with the theme of the above cache, I managed to sign my name in the final log, and left some swaps, without claiming a find, and without ever being there, according to the cache page., should have signed as the invisible man.. . ps, Dont shout at me Jamie, it's only a game.
